  1. Awesome to see Paul Henreid’s daughter making an appearance at UMR. Casablanca is one of my all time favorites. Happy Bithday to Mr. Henreid.

    1. Hey SteinHoF ’16. I agree….I was very happy to see a comment from Monika Henreid. A few years ago James Garner’s daughter did the same thing……as well as Gene Kelly’s son. Makes all the work seem worth while…..plus in my mind it sort of connects us to great movies like Casablanca and Now, Voyage.

  2. This is very interesting Bruce. Thank you!. And a thoughtful posting for his birthday 🙂
My only comments are in: “Stats and …” #6 it says Paul Muni …. and in “Possibly Interesting Facts …” #2 it is really German language films made in Austria and Paul von Henreid. is of course Paul von Hernried 🙂

    1. Hey Monika…..thanks for taking the time to read our tribute to your dad’s movie career. I have fixed those two errors…..I guess somehow “Paul Muni” slipped into my consciousness when typing that line….hard to separate two great “Paul” thespians…lol. My late father had his birthday yesterday….so I can easily understand the bittersweet day you are having today. Once again…thanks for the visit and the comment….it is greatly appreciated.

    2. Hi Ms. Henreid. Big fan of your dad’s movies and your Memoir Facebook page. I love his all-time classic movies Casablanca and Now, Voyager; but my favorite movie of your dad’s is The Spanish Main. Happy birthday to your dad , hope your day is filled with wonderful memories.

  3. I think Paul Henreid did not get the glory he should have. He was believable and had an air of sosfication, that was his true self, that he was able to give to his movie goers. I think the film industry that hires the actors were not smart enough to engage him in more movies. It was definitely a loss, that he did not do more movies.

    1. Hey June ….I agree with your comment on Paul Henreid. One of my favorite parts of this website is the fact that I have had a few communications with his daughter. I think the Hollywood Red Scare hurt him and his career…which is a huge shame. A huge loss indeed. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Mr. Henreid.
