  2. Congratulations on your ground-breaking research on the grosses for films from 1827 to 1930!
As you have indicated information on this data has been very difficult to find.
I wanted to recommend that you include the following information in order to give some necessary context to each of the decades you have research.
    1. Document the U.S. population for each decade and/or in the world at that time (filmgoers
were much less than they are today, etc.).
    2. The average price of a movie ticket.
    3. In the case of the 1930s, the fact that the Great Depression lasted for the entire decade; and
in the 1940s especially, the fact that most of the world was at war and that impacted how
much films grossed in foreign markets and why.
I think these factors will give the reader a better insight into each of the decades.
Thank you for your time and keep up the good work.

  3. I have seen 9 movies from 1927, all of them in the top 20.

The HIGHEST rated movie I have seen is Wings.

The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is 7th Heaven.

The LOWEST rated movie I have seen is College.

    Favourite 1927 Movies:

    Wings
Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans
    Metropolis
The Student Prince of Old Heidelberg
    Love
    When a Man Loves
    College

Other 1927 Movies I Have Seen:

    The Jazz Singer
    The King of Kings

    1. Hey Flora….thanks for checking out this new page that looks at movies that are 93 years old. I have seen 3 of the movies….but they are the first three you list. Wings, Sunrise and Metropolis. I have some how managed not to see The Jazz Singer….though I have seen the Neil Diamond version many times…as BERN1960 loved that movie a lot….and it seems it was always playing when I was growing up. Good stuff as always.

  4. It has been awhile….but here is a new yearly review. I was looking at the database and saw we had over 80 1927 movies in the database….figured it was probably better to do this page, than let those movies sit in the database unseen.
