This movie page looks at The Top Grossing Movies of 1957.   Currently when you type in the search words….”Top Grossing Movies of 1957″ you do not get much information.   So in an effort to get more information out there…we have decided to unlock our 1957 movie database vault and share the information we have collected over the years.

To make this list a movie had to be made in 1957 (as listed on IMDB.com).  Obviously many movies made in 1956 earned box office dollars in 1957.  On the other side many movies made in 1957 made money in 1958 and later.  This page will looks at 155 Top Grossing Movies of 1957.  The movies are listed in a massive table that shows who starred in the movie, had much the movie grossed when it was released and how that gross means in today’s money.

Obviously this is not all of the 1957 movies…..but since our website is dynamic, ever time we add a 1957 movie….it will automatically be added to this page.

    1. Hey Mike…..great research….I will try and get these added in before the next big total website update. Thanks again for tracking this stuff down. I should send you a copy of Warner Brothers ledgers…as I sure there are some on those pages that did not make the 1957 movie page. Good information.

      1. Hey Mike…..all the above movies are now in the table with the exception of Search For Paradise…..which the sources listed…have the right dates…but no mention of “Paradise”. As for Bayou, I also doubted the grosses for this one. My sources do not show either movie doing so well at the box office. Thanks for the suggestions….it took awhile…but I am glad they are now in the table.

        1. Did you look under the name “Search for Paradise” or just “Paradise”?
The name of the movie is actually “Search for Paradise” .

          Let me know

          Thx

          Mike

          1. Hey Mike…I went line by line on the January 4th Variety issue….and the ABC Variety of 1992 that has all the 4 million rentals i ABC order…..it is not there either. I know the Cinerma movies were huge when they first came out. I will have to see if it was called something entirely different….there is one title that seems promising on the 1960 list..Visit to Small Planet…but it’s rental is 3.2 million. Heck it is probably already in the database…it is hard to remember all 36,000 movies in there…lol.

          2. Visit to a Small Planet is a Jerry Lewis movie….that is one Lewis movie that rarely gets talked about….and it was indeed already in the database.

  2. Hi Mr. Cogerson,

  3. Hi Mr. Cogerson,

1957 Three Brave Men (1957) IMDB states made 1956. Should this be changed?

    1. Hey Mike…..moving Three Brave Men to the 1956 page….should show up by tomorrow. Thanks for the catch. I am thinking you most be working on something yourself. Usually WoC finds these errors when she is working on something else….and these errors pop up when the data is combined….and WoC gets frustrated with me for my spelling errors or the year errors. Thanks as always.
