  2. How do you feel about ranking Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003) 68 while ranking Lara Croft: Cradle of Life (2003) 141 in your 2003 yearly review. I would think they are the same movie but correct me if I’m wrong.

    1. Hey Sidney…..great eye catching that mistake…..I have since fixed it…..I thing it was a spelling error….or an “:” placement error…..but very glad you caught that….your efforts are greatly appreciated.

  3. I have seen 9 of the Top 30 highest grossing domestic movies in the above charts and the following are my own pick of the most enjoyable ones for me overall that year.

    Mona Lisa Smile
    I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead
    Open Range
    Anger Management
    Terminator 3
    Hulk
    The Recruit
    Something’s Gotta Give
    Daddy Day Care
    Out of Time
    Identity
    Runaway Jury
    Under the Tuscan Sun
    Lost in Translation
    Return of the King
    Stevie English.

The overall Cogerson review average for those 16 movies is 65.4% – I’m still on the right side of “good” regarding quality Ma. I hope Steve would concede that I have watched quite a variety of films in that list. Anyway very well done again Work Horse.

    1. Hey Bob….thanks for checking out this yearly review. 65.4% for your favorites…not too bad. I have seen all of your favorites except for Stevie English and I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead (my philosophy some days…lol). I can see you enjoying Open Range…..surprised an Adam Sandler movie made your list…then again Jack Nicholson carries some weight…I imagine. I really enjoyed both John Cusack movies on your list…. I have seen Identity many many times….Runaway Jury only a couple of times…but what a cast…Oscar winners Weisz, Hackman and Hoffman to go with Johnny C. Good stuff as always.

      1. HI BRUCE

        Thanks for the feedback.

You hit the nail on the head: Nicholson is the main reason I liked the Sandler movie. For my money Jack brought Adam up to the Nicholson level – well almost and only in a COMEDY! People WHO HAVE been in constant contact with Brando – Jack was his long time neighbour and best mate – tend to do that – fans of Hirssch please note!

By the way Adam gets billed first on posters and Jack on screen – at least on the prints that I have seen.

        1. Hey Bob…now it makes sense….Jack has a serious pull….especially for you and the Brando connection. Good point about the billing in Anger Management.

  4. Hey Flora…..thanks for commenting on another current year…..which is one of the last ones…I imagine you have commented on 80 of the 92 years…so all your comments are greatly appreciated. So glad to see you list Identity as one of your favorite movies…I love that movie….back when I was single…..that was a movie I watched on a regularly basis…..it is a confusing movie….and it was fun to see how fast my date could figure out what was going on. WoC got it right away! Mystic River is a good movie…but not one that I ever want to watch again….great performances but so dark and depressing. Love Actually is one of my all-time favorite movies. Seabiscuit is a great sports movie….and is always fun to watch. Great comment as always.

    1. Ah….I see…..I did the reply in the wrong place….now it makes sense….well…your comment was so good in got two response comments.

  5. I saw 12 movies from 2003. Five of them are in the top 10.

The HIGHEST rated movie I have seen is Finding Nemo.

The highest rated movie I Have NOT seen is The Lord of the Rings.

The LOWEST rated movie I have seen is Girl with the Pearl Earring.

    Favourite 2003 Movies:

    Mystic River
    Elf
    Finding Nemo
    Lost in Translation
    Girl with a Pearl Earring
    Love Actually
    Master and Commander
    A Mighty Wind
    Identity
    Seabiscuit

    Other 2 2003 Movies I Have Seen:

    Daredevil
Under the Tuscan Sun – Beautiful Scenery

    1. Hey Flora…weird….not sure how I did not notice this comment and another yearly comment until tonight…sorry for the delay in the response. 12 is probably one of your lowest tallies ever for one of these year reviews. Of your 12 seen…I have seen them all except for Under the Tuscan Sun.

Elf is a Christmas movie we watch every year. Identity is an underrated movie that I have seen many many times. Love Actually is one of my all-time favorites for sure. I was not very impressed with Lost in Translation…..a little too sad and depressing for me to love it. Great feedback as always.
