This is the fourth year in a row that I kept track of the major movie releases.  In 2011, The Help ended up as the highest rated movie of the year.   In 2012, Argo ended up as the highest rated movie of the year.   Last year Gravity ended up being the top movie of the year.

  1. Interesting charts Bruce. I’ve seen 37 of the 119 films you’ve listed here. 9 from the top 10, still haven’t seen Apes.
Good to see Guardians at the top of your Moviescore, the most enjoyable film I’ve seen this year.
I’ve seen 7 films form the critics chart. I wonder how Boyhood will do at the Oscars. Will Guardians or Captain America get any love from Oscar?
From the top 10 worst reviewed I’ve seen 2, Hercules and Frankenstein and they were pretty bad. Dracula Untold seems to be doing better, nearly $200m worldwide!

    1. @SteveLensman….Very cool…a tally count….I have a small edge on you with 39 movies watched from this page. I have 7 of the Top 10 box office hits…and 6 of the Top 10 critical hits.

I think Boyhood will get some Oscar love…Guardians might get some minor award nominations…but no major nominations.

  2. WOW – ALL THOSE MOVIES – I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OF THESE MOVIES……………….SAD, EH! There are a few I would like to see. Boy, all those figures. ANOTHER GOOD JOB – THANKS FOR ALL THE INFORMATION AS IT IS INTERESTING.

    1. Hey OU812…..Birdman got great reviews….got all the big Oscar….but it only did moderately well at the box office…so it’s score was a little lower than you might expect.

  3. Interstellar and Big Hero Six are easily my two favorites from last year. Glad they are up high in the lists.

    1. @Travis…thanks for checking out my latest….yep poor Nick….things have not gone too well for him the last few years….he will bounce back.
