*We used to update this page at every million mark. When we reached 30 million we stopped. We figure with this new highlight it was time to update the entire page.
November 2022 – We have now reached 42 million views.
We have now had 30 million views since starting our little movie blog back in 2011. Not too bad for a mom and pop operation. Granted, it took almost 10 years and three different websites and over 8,000 movie pages. The good news is that views keep growing and growing. For that, we thank you….without the support of the readers….there is no way we would still have a website.
So, to get a ton of useless stats out of our movie notebooks and on to a webpage…we thought we would list the stats behind the 30 million views. So we have broken down our stats from our first webpage…HubPages.com…..our second webpage…CogersonMovieScore.com (RIP) and our third and hopefully finally webpage – UltimateMovieRankings.com.

Hi
Congratulations on your 7 million hits. Your site is truly multinational, great to see India and Russia mentioned. And of course, Belfast! What about Dublin!
Anyway, you’re doing a fantastic job, keep it up! Many thanks.
I’ve said it before but it’s worth repeating – the most comprehensive and informative site that I have ever seen being devoted to box office grosses of the classic era; and of course it’s also packed with stats and other facts for all of those buffs who like the modern era.
🙂
Hey Bob….I really like this comment. There is something called a drop rate….and my HomePage…..ultimatemovierankings.com used to have a horrible drop rate….probably because for the first 6 months of this page I did not have time to really look at it. Back then….the drop rate was 90%….meaning if 100 people went to that page….90 would leave to go to another website. Well once I realized that was actually one of my visited websites…..I have been constantly trying to improve the drop rate.
After some serious effort the drop rate is now 49.45% since March 2015…..and 37.44% over the last 4 months…..so why am I telling you this? The last time I upgraded that page I thought of including some fake reviews…like you see in movie ads……I think your comment would make a great description of these pages….and be one of the first things a new reader would see….what do you think….a good idea….or a pretty weak idea?
Good job. I would like to think that I have helped you get a small portion of those views. As for your idea for “fake reviews”. I think you have enough people that like your site enough to give “real reviews”. Mine would be. “A wonderful website that is addicting as hell, and run by people that actually listen to it’s readers”. Keep up the great work.
Hey Helakoski…..thanks for the review….it is greatly appreciated….as I told Bob….you might see that quote at the time of the Home Page in the near future.
good idea
Thanks Bob…..I really really liked your “review” of our pages….I could not have written one better myself….you might be seeing the comment at the top of our main page in the near future.
Thank you Chris. I was surprised but happy to see Russia crack the Top 10. India actually supported the second website better than this one……I guess I need to light a fire under the UMR India offices….lol. Let’s see where is Dublin…..sitting in 23rd spot…..which is pretty good. As that is 23rd out 11,342 cities. Thanks for the kind words.
Hey Flora…thank you. Our goals are the same. I try and make sure these pages are only movie related….which at times is difficult…..especially with people like Errol Flynn….seems his offscreen life was filled with scandal after scandal. But luckily most stars are not like Flynn.
Congratulations Bruce !!
This is the just reward for the work you do. Keep it up.
It is indeed. It is also seen in the fact that he has fans all over the world like you in France, me in Canada, Steve Lensman in England, and Robert Roy in Belfast.
Hey Flora….one of the great joys of this page is seeing how it is reaching the entire world….except for Central Africa and North Dakota….lol.
Hey Laurent….thank you. I was on vacation….and will be sending you some need box office numbers in the next day or two. Glad you and your family are safe after the tragic events in France.
1 Looking forward to Walter
2 I now know what a spammer is – thanks Flora and Bruce.
3 My son and his family are holidaying in France at the moment but thankfully were not near the tragedy. A few years ago my entire family were in France with me and we attended the Bastille Day celebrations. They were carried out in such great spirit that it’s criminal in itself that anyone should bring such carnage to them. “They shut the gates of mercy on Mankind.”
Glad to hear you were not near the tragedy.
Hi
Congratulations on your 6 million views, incredible achievement. Must be one of the most successful movie sites around. I don’t know how many times I’ve logged in but I can say I’ve enjoyed it every time. Your top 20 was very interesting, not surprised that Pixar tops the poll. I smiled when I seen Davis ahead of Crawford, even in death, they’re in competition. John Wayne still gets plenty of hits. I wonder what sort of age group he gets. Nice to see Belfast mentioned, all the best.
Thank yo Chris. I appreciate all the visit. So are you from Belfast? I think on our 2nd website…..Joan and Bette finished within 10 views of each other. Bette has the overall lead…but that is based on the fact that her page was first. Joan was one of the last pages on our first website…she has outviewed Bette on the 2nd and 3rd website. Though Bette has been gaining on Joan on the 3rd website lately. As you say even in death they are still competing. Pretty sure the young men of the 1960s are the ones viewing my John Wayne page….putting them in the 55 to 75 age range. As always…thanks for the visit and nice words.
Congrats Bruce and Wife of Cogerson!! A well deserved success for this unique, fascinating and very useful movie site. 6 million views is pretty amazing! Keep those stats and facts coming!
Nice picture of your daughter and it’s good to see ‘Conanson’ again, I kinda missed him. 🙂
It’s good to see John Wayne, Hitch, Elvis, Grant, Willis, Caine and Bond have all been so popular!
Wayne and Elvis have done very well on …this third and hopefully final website. Bond has slowed down…..Grant and Hitch have been good but not great view getters. Caine and Willis had their glory days on previous pages…they do not get much traffic on UMR.com…so sad…what are people thinking….lol.
Thanks Steve….it has been a fun…and in this case a very quick ride. We had fun trying to come up with an interesting photo. Emily’s picture made the cut…Samantha’s picture ended up on the cutting room floor. Her agent says she does not want to work with me again…lol.
