Our Movie Review on Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2

Why I watched this one? Loved Guardians of the Galaxy….as did my kids….been looking forward to this one since the first trailer was released.

What is this one about? The gang is back at this time get to meet Starlord’s dad (played by Kurt Russell)….while battling some gold people.

My thoughts on this one? In a nutshell….I liked the movie….but I did not love the movie. The opening credits scene was a blast as Baby Groot is casually dancing as battle carnage is happening all around him. The action scenes are fun…with one involving Yondu and his arrow being the best of the bunch. The main characters are still fun to hang out with…and we get to know more about their pasts in this chapter.

On the negative side…..the story line is average at best. Baby Groot is cute….but other than bringing cute to the party he has little to do until we reach the film’s climax. I grew tired of listening to Drax’s jokes. Essential it is the same joke over and over. Some of the sets seemed like Star Trek television show rejects.

Final thought: A movie worth seeing but does not even come close to cracking my Top 5 Superhero Movies.
