A spectacular looking website Laurent, very colorful. I like the layout.
Google Chrome has a page translator that can translate any language to English in an instant and will even translate the links within the page. Very useful.
WORK HORSE/LAURENT
1 Good to see for a change (1) Box office figures being quoted by French sources (2) some attention being paid to the silent era though the Cogerson site has at times done some sterling work in that respect in relation to performers such as Pickford, Garbo, Chaplin and even Joan Crawford while Steve gave us a nice run of videos on silent movie stars some months back. The translation facility was highly useful in Laurent’s presentation.
2 I recognised performers such as Swanson, Bebe Daniels, Norma Talmadge and Ramon Navarro. Swanson seems to have been the Crawford or Loy of her day while Navarro was the Chuck Heston of the 1920s playing the silent 1925 Ben Hur. He died tragically at 69 by being tortured by burglars [the two Ferguson brothers who were actually pimps for hookers] to get him to tell where his money was stored at home and he was finally murdered by the intruders. The large amount of money that the burglars though was hidden at the Navarro residence was non-existent and they left with just $20 after killing him.
Normally when I am stuck for a new daily post I go with Steve’s latest You Tube video….well changing things up this time around….giving Laurent and his internet work a shout out today. Worth checking out.
