“Great actor but little respect at box office….of his close to 70 movies…only 10 have reached $100 million in adjusted worldwide gross. Seems actors like Colin Farrell and Jake Gyllenhaal are following his blueprint. Ok….let’s watch the video.
Seen 9 of the first movies…only Wild Bill has escaped me. Saw King Kong in theaters…loved that one as a kid. RIPD was not as bad as many claimed it to be.
Movies 40 through 31. Seen 8 of them. #39 Kiss Me Goodbye is a fun movie….a guilty pleasure. #32 Tideland is easily the worst movie in the career of Terry Gilliam. Bridges plays a rotting corpse for most of the movie…avoid that one.
Movies 30 through 21….seen 7 (why is my tally going down?) of these movies….#21 The Contender is my favorite of this bunch….he deserved his Oscar nomination…but Gary Oldman has the best male part but Joan Allen is incredible in the lead role. Strongly disliked the second Kingsman movie…Bridges was wasted.
Movies 20 through 11…seen 7 again. Favorites would be Seabiscuit and Starman.
Top 10…gotta be 10 for 10….mmmm. #10 Fat City….not as good as I was hoping for #9 Only The Brave…good movie, but he is barely in it #8 Fearless….good but a one and done movie for me #7 Crazy HEart…it was ok #6 Hell or High Water…probably my favorite Bridges’ performance #5 True Grit…he did John Wayne proud #4 The Fisher King…another favorite…love when he breaks in the castle at the end #3 Iron Man….not impressed with him in that one…he started the whole…Marvel villains are the weak part of the movie #2 The Big Lebowski….I love the Coen brothers….but never was really impressed with this one….like Streetcar Named Desire…I keep rewatching it….hoping to see what everybody else sees…but so far…NOPE! #1 The Last Picture Show…a good but slow moving drama. So that is….41 of his movies seen….or 82%. I am looking forward to his Bad Times At The El Royale. Good job. Voted up….and shared at you know where.
Epic post Bruce, cheers. 41 out of 50 is impressive, I’ve seen 25, Flora 8 from this list.
The Big Lebowski is highly rated as well as a cult favorite, it’s enjoyable but there are other Bridges films I prefer watching.
I saw King Kong at the cinema too, even bought the soundtrack album by John Barry. The main poster is iconic, I think I had one on my wall as a kid. I wish I kept it. Thanks again for commenting, appreciate the vote and share.
