Hope you and your family had a great Labour Day picnic. I have enjoyed my Labour Day weekend too.
Hey Flora…it was a pretty relaxing weekend….with a little stress tonight….as some last minute school prep stuff is happening….but all well go well tomorrow. Added bonus…WoC saw her very first James Bond movie…as we watched Goldfinger Saturday night…..not thinking she was blown away by that experience…..but she has now seen a Bond movie. Glad you enjoyed your Labor Day Weekend as well.
HI BRUCE
You are sure earning that Work Horse tag that I gave you.
It shows you how much I enjoyed that fortnight in the States way back in 1999 because I can still remember what I did every day and evening of my stay there.
For example on the Saturday before Labor Day we travelled to Savannah where we visited the Tom Hanks Forrest Gump bench. On Labor Day itself my son in law took me for lunch to Planet Hollywood, Atlanta [ partly owned by by Willis I think] and that evening I watched Greg Rusedski playing a tennis match in the US Open [on TV beside me now as I write]. Greg lost
Even 19 years ago Dan was at his work because I couldn’t realise then of course that there was a link between Hanks and Willis which would extend down the years to my encountering a guy who idolised them both!
Anyway best of luck Teach with your future academic experiences in that Blackboard Jungle of yours!
It has been a crazy summer…I have not worked this much since my grocery store days….but all the hard work paid off…as WoC and I were able to purchase some properties that should help us in our “retirement” years. A long term investment possiblilty that needed some immediate additional cash flow into the Cogerson household. Happy to say the goal was reached.
I have also been to the Forrest Gump bench in Savannah, Georgia. WoC and I honeymooned in Hilton Head, South Carolina…..on a one day trip, we went to Savannah….we saw the Gump bench…and the house Clint Eastwood shot…The Garden of Midnight of Good and Evil (or whatever it was called).
I get a kick out of the fact the sole Bruce and Tom movie is one of Tom Hanks’ worst movies ever made. While for Bruce….it is surrounded by so many bad movies….lol. Thanks the encouraging words about the upcoming school year.
And a happy Work Horse day to you too Bruce. When I was in the US in 1999 one of the days that I was there was Labor Day.
Hey Bob…it has been a relaxing day for sure….tomorrow it gets hectic…as the school year officially starts. This summer has been crazy…..I have gone from teaching a 6th grade Special Education class, to a Technology class, to English for 7th graders and on Tuesday last week I got moved to teaching a Special Education Math class for 6th, 7th and 8th graders….with a dash of History for 7th graders. All these changes withing 3 months! Lots of class planning for me. Happy Labor Day. Glad you got to experience one of these American holidays.
