Why I watched this one? Loved the trailers….and seemed like a movie I would really enjoy….many times that is not what happens.

What is this one about? Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at Lake Tahoe’s El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past. Over the course of one fateful night, everyone will have a last shot at redemption – before everything goes to hell.

My thoughts on this one? Loved this movie! This is an original movie with lots of fun twists and turns. Movie captured me from the very first scene. This is an intense movie that kept me on the edge of my seat. I felt uneasy through much of the movie. I view feeling “uneasy” as a good thing…..rarely (mainly because I watch so many movies) does that happen to me.

The performances are excellent across the board. Special kudos to Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo and Lewis Pullman (Bill’s son). I had not liked a single Dakota Johnson role….but I liked her in this one. Chris Hemsworth seems to be having a blast playing the bad guy in this one. Final thought: Go and see this movie….will be on my Top 10 movies watched in 2018 list.
