UMR Review of The Lovebirds (2020)

When I saw the trailer for this one, I thought it looked interesting. So when I saw it pop up on my NetFlix account, I jumped all over it. Kumail Nanjiani and Issa Rae play long time partners who decide to break up. Then all hell breaks loose. The first half was very entertaining. I like Nanjiani’s comic touch. Rae’s performance was fun and had me looking her up after the movie was over. Sadley, the final 30 minutes is awful…which I found disappointing.  Final thought. A good first half followed by a horrible second half…puts this one as pretty average in my book.
