  1. I’ve seen 10 of these. What you say, no lists. These guys are just in my database, I feel they’re unworthy in the land of connections or their career is too short.

    1. Hey Dan….I have seen 9 of his movies. I can understand most of the Friends not being in your database. I would say Lisa Kudrow would be worthy…granted her roles are supporting…but she has close to 40 movies. Good stuff…even if they are no lists…lol.

  2. From my perspective the 3 TV sitcoms that have had the most in common regarding style and fashion have in the past 40 years been Friends/Cheers/Frasier. Whilst I adored the second 2 the first was never my cup of tea.

I found it rather banal and largely unfunny and I saw the “sex” that was endlessly thrust into the audiences’ face as gratuitous and repetitive; and that was ironic from my viewpoint as I regarded only ONE of the female leads [Kudrow] as having any sex appeal.

I do find Matt LeBlanc LIKEABLE and Matthew Perry’s Chandler Bing was the only one of the 6 who had me laughing when W o Bob made me watch the show with her; but the other 4 were performers thatnormally I would choose to view only in a situation where the absolute choice was binary and the alternative was watching paint dry.

I do not regard any of the 6 as movie stars in the traditional sense and consider that their big-screen promotion represents simply a rip-off of a phenomenally-popular TV series. In short they remain basically television stars in my opinion.

I have little or no interest in most of their films with the exception of Perry’s The Whole Nine Yards/Ten Yards pair of flicks because Willis was in those and for me HE is always watchable when his ex is not about . Admittedly Perry in a serious role was OK playing Ted Kennedy in the 2017 mini-series The Kennedys: After Camelot

Also to be fair Lisa Kudrow gave a passable performance in a small role in Emily Blunt’s 2016 movie The Girl on the Train though Lisa language was such that one got the impression that through Parry, Willis may have passed on to her some choice words from HIS notorious vocabulary of which Emily Blunt’s Mary Poppins would never have approved! Still being “OK” or “passable” most certainly wouldn’t have cut it with Joel!

However there is no doubt that the 6 Friends engendered enormous popularity with, and love from, mass audiences worldwide and in deference to their followers who also follow or even casually watch this site the 6 Cogerson pages are warranted and I welcome them with a “Vote Up!” This post has been copied in IDENTICAL form to the pages of the other 5 Cheers members.

    1. Hey Bob. Great breakdown on Friends the show and the cast members. My previous wife loved Friends….not thinking I saw a single episode of Friends that did not feature Bruce Willis. Willis appeared in 3 episodes….winning an Emmy for his appearance. So I am right there with you. I enjoyed Cheers and Frasier a lot more as well.

I would say Jennifer Aniston has become a movie star. She was the lead actress in movies for almost 20 years. Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow seem to be supporting only actresses….but both have made an impact. Schwimmer might have the second best movie career behind Aniston….but he like Cox and Kudrow seems to be in the supporting mix now.

That leaves the two that you enjoyed the most. LeBlanc has appeared in the least amount of movie roles….with only a handful being leading roles. Ed…which was the baseball playing monkey movie is not a huge highlight on his career. And then Matthew Perry. He was probably set up to be the biggest star when it comes to movies. For awhile he was the lead in numerous movies. I really liked him in The Whole Nine Yards….Bruce is pretty much supporting…while Perry is in almost every scene. I have not seen Perry in his two most dramatic roles….both being tv projects…the Kennedy mini-series you mentioned and the Ron Clark movie.

A possible Cheers page could be coming soon….that page will probably cross 200 movies….but a Kelsey Grammer page would need to be created. Good stuff as always.
