  1. I like the star ratings, reminds me of Maltin’s Movie Guide, one of my old movie bibles along with Halliwell’s Film Guide. You can see at a glance what the rating is instead of squinting at the numbers, and you still get the more accurate figures in the main chart.

It was tragic losing Alan Rickman so soon, one of the best loved British actors of modern times. And one of the most iconic screen villains too, Hans Gruber of course. He was enjoyably nasty as the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood and well cast as the mysterious Harry Potter hating wizard Severus Snape.

I’ve seen 20 of the 40 films on the chart, favorites include – Die Hard, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, the Harry Potter series, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Galaxy Quest and Quigley Down Under.

Interesting chart comparing our scores, Die Hard is 4th on the UMR and first on the critics chart, which matches my chart. I have Sense & Sensibility at no.3, it’s first on the UMR chart and 2nd on the critcs chart. My no.2 is Deathly Hallows, that’s no.2 on the UMR and no.3 on the critics. So we’re not too far apart on those three films.

I’ve only seen Love Actually once, maybe I should give it another spin this xmas.

Better late than never Bruce, a nice tribute page to Alan Rickman. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve…glad you like the star rankings….I am beginning to really like them too….thank you again, R. Hinders. WoC suggested instead of stars use the UMR logo as the stars…..that might be cool too….just not sure how to do that….as I have never seen our logo that small….but I am sure WoC can easily do that. I like the comparison table too….luckily you are not too wrong this time out….lol. Easily my favorites are Die Hard and Love Actually. Actually surprised that you have only seen that one once. In my book they are both Christmas classics. 20 seen is an impressive total. good stuff as always.
