  1. I am zero for andy Samberg. I am not an anime fan. cogerson, should I add neighbors to my watchlist? I prefer UMR reviews over 80% but there are none.
p.s. I posted a long request list 2 weeks ago. probably lost in server going down , should I repost?

    1. Hey Bob Cox. Thanks for checking out our Andy Samberg page. I had not noticed he had no movies over 80%. Thanks for pointing that out. As for your request yes please post it again, sorry things of been kind of crazy even though I’m not working at school I’m still putting in lots of teaching hours. Sorry I missed your request looking forward to seeing what it is. Good stuff as always.

  2. Hmm I’m not that familiar with Andy Samberg, I’m guessing he’s a lot more famous in America than over here in the UK. I probably would have said the same thing about Adam Sandler 20 years ago. Looking at the chart I’m surprised to see films I recognise.

I’ve seen 9 of the 21 films listed, more than I thought. Favorites are Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Spaghetti 1 & 2 and The Grand Transylvanian Hotel 1,2,3. That’s 5 of the 9. I’ve also had a few chuckles and guffaws watching Neighbors, Grown Ups 2, Friends With Benefits and Space Chimps.

Nice work Bruce, looking at your post I don’t think even Samberg can beat your tally. 😉

    1. Hey Steve thanks for checking out another actor you’re not too familiar with. Yes here in the states he’s probably one of our more famous comedians. Granted it is for his television work versus movie work. I did enjoy him in his show Brooklyn Nine-Nine and his appearance is on Saturday night live. His movie career has been OK, he has one coming out soon that might be his movie breakout role. You have seen almost half of his movies even though you’re not aware of him, that’s actually pretty impressive. Good stuff is always stay safe and healthy.

I have seen 19 of these movies. I am willing to bet nobody here at UMR will come even remotely close to that total.”

    RESPONSE
I wish to protest! I understood this to be a “family” site so why is our moderator encouraging his viewers to gamble?

To set the proper example I hereby decline The Work Horse’s challenge to bet.

    1. Hey Bob….gambling is everywhere these days…..I think me seeing 19 of his movies…was a safe bet…as Steve joked…Samberg might not even be able to make that claim…lol.

  4. By coincidence a fortnight ago W o Bob and I watched an episode of Sat Night Live on the advice of a close friend; we shall not watch it again. In my perception it has that forced OTT type of humour that is not for us. It no doubt is the product of many clever people but for me it is simply not funny.

I have seen just one of the films in Bruce’s tables above: the first Hotel Transylvania film which I attended as escort for my grandchildren. I would not be interested in going to see an Adam Sandler film for my own sake. The grandchildren did like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs though which they watched with their parents.

I think that this is the first new page The Work Horse has given us in a long time that has not enthused me. However as we all have diverse tastes to one extent or another at least an occasional disappointment among numerous pleasures is usually par for the course in the individual experience; and I sincerely extend my best wishes to the many who probably will find this new page pleasing. Bruce must continue his trend of catering for all tastes.

Anyway Andy does not need me as he has a current reported net worth of $20 million; and IMDB credits him with 7 entertainment awards and 40 noms. My sources list nothing in the pipeline for him at the moment and his current project is the TV series Brooklyn Nine-Nine 143 episodes of which have run from 2013 until the present.

I doubt if it would appeal to me [despite The Work Horse’s love of it – other viewers may have noticed that he and I don’t unfailingly share the same tastes!] as it is described as a “crime comedy” and crime productions that are given the “humorous” treatment don’t appeal to me. However in fairness to Andy and WH I should highlight that IMDB gives the series an overall high 84% rating and the fact that it has run for a whopping 8 seasons illustrates that many DO obviously enjoy it – and why shouldn’t they?

    1. Hey Bob….thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts on Saturday Night Live. Samberg was known for his Digital Shorts some are very funny….others are painfully not. Samberg’s Palm Springs was due to be in theaters this year…but the Coronavirus has made when it comes out…a guessing game now. Palm Springs did break a record at Sundance…for most money paid for a movie by a distrubiting company. I have looked for a trailer…but so far…I have not been successful in that pursuit. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a fun show….at this point I am now two seasons behind. But I enjoyed the seasons I have seen. Good stuff.

  5. I have seen 19 of these movies. I am willing to bet nobody here at UMR will come even remotely close to that total. Somehow his sense of humor has reached me…..I did not see that coming. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of the few television shows I watch. Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping is a funny mockumenary. Celeste and Jesse Forever is a good comedy drama. Hot Rod has an avid following. My long way of saying this page is for me. I rarely do a page on somebody I request. Stay healthy and safe.
