Check out Anthony Mann’s career compared to current and classic actors. Most 100 Million Dollar Movies of All-Time.
Anthony Mann, one of Hollywoods great directors of westerns, who has also directed two of the biggest historical epics in film history.
I’ve seen 14 of the 33 films on the chart. Favorites are – El Cid (an all time favorite), Fall of the Roman Empire, Quo Vadis (directed by Mervyn LeRoy), Winchester 73, The Far Country, Bend of the River, The Naked Spur and The Tin Star.
Not counting Quo Vadis, El Cid is no.1 at the box office and UMR charts. Nice.
Winchester 73 his best reviewed western.
Good work Bruce. Vote Up!
Hey Steve. Tally count: Dan 33, Flora 23, Steve 14 and me at 12. I have seen and liked most of your favorites. I have not seen Fall of the Roman Empire or The Tin Star. As for Quo Vadis…IMDb has it listed as uncredited for him….but other places say he co-directed it. So in the end, I included it. I actually get his Mann westerns mixed up…..but I think I enjoyed The Naked Spur the most. I imagine some of these Mann westerns will be showing up on your latest Western You Tube videos. Good stuff as always.
I’ve seen all 33 listed.
Hey Dan…..thanks for sharing your tally. Wow….you can not top seeing all 33 movies listed in our page. He only has a few movies that did not make the rankings. Tally count: Dan 33, Flora 23, Steve 14 and Cogerson 12. Good stuff as always.
