UMR Review on Avengers:Endgame (2019)
Why I watched this one? Had to see what Thanos had in store for this round.
What is this one about? After the “snap” the Avengers try and make things right.
My thoughts on this one? New brooms also sweep well….but as I type this review only minutes after seeing the movie….I feel this is one of the best superhero movies ever made. Movie gives everybody a chance to shine. Movie is funny, heart breaking, action packed and very clever. There are many crowd pleasing moments (none will be mentioned here), many scenes that beg to be re-watched, and a nice conclusion to many of the Avengers’ story arcs. Liked all the performances in the movie. Movie packs an emotional wallop at times….but that is to be expected after 22 movies with this collection of characters. Final thought: Needs to be seen.
It’s quite interesting how much avengers has changed.
I watched the first in cinema. It didn’t disappoint.
I’ve changed over the years so my taste has changed as well (not because I’ve gotten older).
I remember honest trailers doing a good commentary so I checked that video out again.
Endgame is like a mid-life crisis. It’s ‘I’m not too old to die. I will make it happen. Crying’.
Yes……..,….,…,…,…,… who cares?
But hey, after you told me, I’m verified smart now… (epic lol)
Hey jordie…I guess I can not argue with you since you are “verified smart”. Lol.
Firstly, I reckon I should’ve said that the ‘smart thing’ was besides my endgame argument.
Secondly, after reading different pages how you feel about cinema it’s really interesting to me how you feel totally different from me about endgame.
Thirdly, I didn’t feel anything while watching endgame. That’s why I said it’s a midlife crisis. To me it’s like a bunch of people crying, not like LOTR (although nowadays that one scene from fellowship is like the group crying without anyone seeking comfort from anyone, it’s just all by themself), but I used to feel different about fellowship for a long time.
But endgame is nobody caring about anybody, whatsoever, so I don’t feel like caring
Hey Jordie….great minds can not always think alike. Granted…I have not seen the movie since it’s opening weekend in theaters….so my review was immediately after seeing it. The fact that I have not watched it again might be an sign that I did not enjoy it as much as I wrote. Normally, if a movie blows me away in theaters, I will see it again in theaters, or it immediately joins my movie collection at the first opportunity. Endgame is NOT sitting on my DVD shelf. Still….I do not remember a ton of crying in Endgame…sure they were down…but not crying like Tobey Maguire in Spiderman 3….lol. Good feedback.
Actually there isn’t much crying…
(You’re right, there is crying and there is tobey maguire crying. Fun though, I’ve never been bothered by tobey’s crying, as in uncle ben dying, although other people on the internet felt like he was a crybaby.
But even with tobey it’s actual crying)
I realize that I don’t mean physical crying in endgame, but mental crying. But not crying for a loss, remorse or similar. It’s a midlife crisis. It’s crying without emotion. There is no will.
They don’t even feel bad.
I mean what’s the situation? Thor has gone lazy. Hulk is enjoying time with fans. Iron man and captain america live their daily life. Is this how people do when someone destroyed the universe after you’ve been fighting to stop that for long time?
All these people gone, even close people.
And then iron man decides to get the gang together for one last ride. And this time we all sacrifice ourselves. So it’s either make it or break it. And how do we all behave? Well, someone asked me and since I had some spare time left I thought, why not? It’s some time off from my daily life.
I mean, hell, captain marvel comes flying in and saying, well, I didn’t have no time before. Sure, Thanos was about to destroy the universe, but you know, my friend needed me to get some groceries, so I couldn’t come earlier.
This film has smashed the boxoffice like few other have and I’m here sitting like is it over yet? is it over yet? is it over yet? I wanna go home now…
