  1. Couldn’t agree more. Was the star of the decade created especially to give Barbra a Tony or have there been Tonys given for star of the decade in the 80s, 90s, etc?
Julie Andrews is sort of in the same boat: she’s won an Oscar, 3 Grammys, and several Emmys and has three Tony nominations for My Fair Lady, Camelot and Victor/Victoria but no wins. I think Julie should be given an honorary Tony. She’s also a Dame!

  2. So STREISAND was the big female box office draw in the 70s….who did she give the crown to in the 1980s? Meryl Streep? I know Julia Roberts became the big draw in the 90s, but then who was the box office queen in the 00s, and now in the 10s?

    1. Hey Abfabsbabs….I would guess…..Cameron Diaz or Angelina Jolie in the 2000s…..and the 2010s belong to Jennifer Lawrence.

  3. Thanks for this post! Not only are Barbra’s statistics interesting, but it’s fascinating looking at some of the classic star’s box office performance. For example, seeing Bette Davis’ inflation-adjusted box office from the 1940s is enlightening. She really must have been a huge and profitable movie star back then! Barbra’s box office must have really gave her the power and stature she had back in the 70s.

  4. Fockers films doesn’t really count imo , it’s not a main/starring role….that’s like saying Way of Dragon is a Norris movie when he only guest stars in it

    1. Hey Collector 80….yes her part is a supporting one….but they used her in the promotions…and she helped make those movies massive box office hits…..plus you get BS with Dustin Hoffman and Robert DeNiro…..I love seeing these legends acting together

  5. Babs hasn’t won a Tony award. She was awarded a special star of the decade award so hasn’t technically won one in competition. Sorry to be Debbie downer lol…Also her averages re awards and films do look good as she hasn’t did many films so its bound to look good against multi Oscar nominated actresses like Bette Davis and Meryl Streep who have made far more films.

    1. Hey James….I changed the wording in that fact to won/received….it is still a pretty impressive stat
