  1. Happy Birthday Miss Streisand!
Still hoping for one last movie- and a few more albums!
I wish you health, and more than wealth….I wish you Love.

  2. Very enjoyable movie. No one killed, no shots fired, no vile language, A nice way to start off the new year. Let’s see how long it lasts.

  3. Hi all!! Thanks for sharing!! I have admired Barbra since 1971 and it has been a wonderful journey to see her career since. It was also another journey of her career to go along is her musical career in albums/CD’s, TV specials and concerts. The movies that I admires: Funny Girl, What’s Up, Doc?; Hello Dolly!; Yentl; The Way We Were; For Pete’s Sake; Prince of Tides; Funny Lady; The Mirror has two faces; Brief comments of each: 1- Funny Girl; Powerful musical debut, excellent esemble, nice production design as well as costume design and excellent songs and scoring with clever editing. It will be always #1 movie associated with Barbra.
2- What’s Up, Doc?; EXCELLENT Esemble and writing!! I love to watch it again and again and NEVER be bored of this movie. Shocked me that this movie was not nominated much for Golden Globes in Musical/Comedy categories?? Madeline Kahn should have been nominated for supporting actress….. oh well
3- Hello Dolly!; I remember as a boy watching it in the theatre and my jaw was open to watch the awesome dancing, huge production designs as well as costumes plus exploding songs. Right now in 2019, this movie will fit because more people are accepting age-gap of a couple.
4- Yentl; As a Streisand fan, we all are proud of Barbra doing the risky and devotion of this project. Beautiful in many ways….. cinematography…lighting…production design….music…songs….costume….acting…inter-singing/interpreting… should have more than 4 Oscar nominations…
5- The Way We Were; I enjoy the chemistry between very handsome Robert Redford and Barbra which is the draw of this movie…. Barbra could have won the Best Actress (Glenda Jackson for A Touch of Class which I am trying to understand why Glenda won??)…. nice period movie…. powerful association of the song which is Barbra first #1 song in her career and the song was also #1 at end of the year charts which is remarkable achievement for Barbra as a singer…..Marvin Hamlish’s score…..
6- For Pete’s Sake; Once a while I watch it for fun as it is a good comedy to laugh and nice to see variety of esemble working with Barbra…
7- Prince of Tides; nice serious movie with excellent performances especially Nick Nolte and Kate Nelligan. I love the music scoring as well as their cinematography. Barbra should have been nominated for Best Director (shame on Academy Awards members during that time!!) Also too bad that Barbra decided not to release or use the beautiful song as part of the movie except part of the soundtrack album…..
8- Funny Lady; great musical aspects that I often skipped the non-musical scenes to listen and watch musical performances such as Great Day, Blind Date, How Lucky Can You Get?, ….. I think the studio Columbia Pictures and producers (re: Fanny Brice’s son-in law) rush the movie… the story could be better… make-up should be better….better marketing (released in March)….I bet Barbra was glad that the movie contract was done with Funny Lady as the last film. Look what happen to ‘A Star Is Born” success!! Butterfly concept for Barbra
8- A Star Is Born; same as Funny Lady that I skipped non-musical scenes to enjoy the musical parts….
Thanks and talk more soon I hope soon for Albums/CD’s discussion…..
