  1. You have chosen to write about one of my favorite actresses. I loved watching her and Oman Sharif. Him and his ruffled shirt.

Hello Dolly was another of my favorites.

    She is a national treasure.

This just goes to show, unlike the women of today who are almost clones of each other and full of silicone and plastic, great talent will always shine through.

    1. Hey Blonde Logic….thanks for the comment and the visit. I am glad that I was able to have a movie page on one of your favorites…..her movie career was a lot more successful than I remembered….her great talent has kept her a star for almost 50 years now…and that is an impressive run.

  2. You’ve written about one of my favorite singers and actors. Streisand, though difficult to work with because of her perfectionism, is truly an artist.

I tend to agree with your feeling about Ronstadt. I once did a live concert in San Franciso (singing ”

Somewhere over the rainbow” with Jim Neighbor on bass. Jim was Linda’s bass player for her live shows as well as her albums.

Love your Movie reviews and as far as I’m concerned you are right on!

Sharing this and rated up and across!

    1. Hey vocalcoach….that is awesome that you did a live concert with Ronstadt’s bass player….that sounds like such a great memory…very impressive.

As for Barbra I was stunned on how awesome her movie career was when I did the research for this movie page…some of the best movie numbers ever for an actress or actor…..Oscars nominations, Oscar wins, box office hits, critical love…you name it she had it.

Thanks for the votes across the board and the share….I went ahead and did a quick update after I saw you shared…including adding a new column(box office rank by year)…it is greatly appreciated.

  3. Meeeeemories… light the corners of my mind… oh sorry got carried away there…. problem with Leslie Caron is that she’s only about 5ft and looks very young in those classic musicals, while Cyd Charisse was tall and gorgeous and one of the best dancers on film. 🙂

    1. Hey Steve, they both had great legs….although Charisse was taller…Caron’s scene with Father Goose where they think she got bitten by a snake was and is one of my favorite scenes. Glad to see that you are able to remember the lyrics for Memories…lol.

  4. Hey- I was thinking. Was it you who said he was a Leslie Caron fan? I think Steve prefers Cid Charise. Why don’t you do a movie page on her and see what films you have not seen which should be at the top of your to-see list.

    1. Hey Flora. Yep it is me that likes Leslie Caron…some of the nicest legs to ever appear on the silver screen. Steve does in fact prefer Cyd Charisse. I will have to do a search on Caron movies and see if there are enough for a hub. Thanks for the suggestion. P.S. I watched Funny Lady last night…decent but not great movie….Streisand and Caan did not have much screen chemistry…in my humble opinion.

  5. Barbra is an original talent that will never be duplicated nor surpassed. She’s the greatest female recording artist of all time. She has made some amazing movies and is contiuing to make great films. She is a legend, icon, superstar and artistic genius.

    1. Hey NYCman….thanks for the comments. I did a hub where I took all my hubs and ranked them by their numbers….and Barbra Streisand came up in 2nd place on that list…with Tom Cruise being the only one that had higher numbers. I personally was amazed at how strong her movie career was….between 1967 and 1980 there was no big box office/movie star working. I think the Guilt Trip could be funny and I am looking forward to seeing that one in the near future.
