  1. Nice little video Bruce.

The video should have had a separate top 10 for each family member. That might have been fun and interesting. I’m guessing the final top 10 on this were mostly your favorites? 🙂

From your top 10 I’ve seen just two – Infinity War and American Made. I still haven’t seen Train to Busan, and I also want to see Bad Times at the El Royale.

I’ll post my top 10 when I see more of 2018s films during the next few months.

    Vote Up.

    1. Hey Steve…..thanks for checking out our 2018 Best Movie Video. Surprised you have not seen Game Night yet…..seems you would enjoy the comedy in that one. Not surprised you have not seen A Man Called Ove and Small Town Crime. As for The Last Movie Star…..it is now a bittersweet movie…as Burt seems to be playing himself in that one. There are scenes were old Burt acts with young Burt of Deliverance and Smokey and the Bandit……those scenes alone are worth checking out. Good stuff.

  2. You have been busy these last few days. So I would say my favorite movie of the year was A Star Is Born. That got named as one of your top movies, but not on your personal list. Loved the bloopers at the end. Daughter of Cogerson is a cutie.

    1. Hey Helakoski…..thanks for checking out Best Movies of 2018 video. I have not seen A Star Is Born….but I will. I suspect it is going to get some Oscar nominations…and has a great chance to crack our UMR Top 100. Sam had fun doing the video….she seems to like wearing her UMR swag. I will let her know of your kind words. Good stuff.

  3. Hi Bruce
A very happy New Year to you & your family.

I have also seen the Swedish film “A Man Called Ove” & I totally agree with you. It’s a funny & very moving film.
    Good list.

    1. Hey Søren. I was just thinking about you when I was working on our UMR Hall of Fame Class of 2018. Hope your New Year was awesome for you and your family. Good to see somebody else that liked A Man Called Ove. I liked how it slowly told his backstory. Funny and moving is a great way to describe it. Thanks for stopping by.

  4. I saw 648 any year movies for the first time in 2018 which is down 10.8 %. No more Mill Creek collections and B western DVD’s have had their toll on my count. I would say most movies seen were made in this millennium. Yes we so a few old ones and even a few silent films.

Last films seen in 2018, both today were The Sisters Brothers and Mary Queen of Scots.

These are my 10 best 2018 releases followed by a few honorable mentions. No Dogs Purpose on top this year so without further adieu, the best of 2018.

    1 AQUAMAN
    2 MARY POPPINS RETURNS
    3 BLACK PANTHER
    4 GREEN BOOK
    5 READY PLAYER ONE
6 SGT. STUBBY: AN AMERICAN HERO
    7 ROMA
    8 MEG, THE
    9 SEARCHING
    10 MIRACLE SEASON

    Honorable mentions

    BAG OF MARBLES (FR.-CAN-CZ REP)
    BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
    DEADPOOL 2
    JURASSIC WORLD
MAMMA MIA! HERE WE GO AGAIN
    MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT

    1. Hey Dan…..thanks for your Best Movies list. Looks like the recent releases did well on your list…as Aquaman and Mary Poppins Returns top your list. WoC and our daughters did not enjoy Mary Poppins at all….heck Sam apparently fell asleep during the movie. I will check both movies out in the near future. Of your 10…I have seen…#3, #5, #6, #8 and #10. I really enjoyed Sgt. Stubby….a very pleasant surprise. I want to see Roma…especially since it seems headed to some Oscar glory…..Roma will be included on our 2018 Movie Page when the latest update finishes.

As for your Honorable Mentions….seen…Deadpool2, Jurassic World and MI 6. Did not enjoy Jurassic World at all…it almost made my worst movies of 2018 list….very disappointing…..so on that movie we will have to agree to disagree.

So you topped my 551 movies watched…and pretty easily at that….as your total is 17.60% more than my total..even with the absence of the Mill Creek collections and B western DVDs. Good feedback as always.
