I saw 3. no 10s. no favorites. no hidden gems. room a 7, too weird to ever recommend.
Hey bob cox. Thanks for the visit, the comment and the tally count. I agree with you about Room…..a good movie, but I have no plans to ever watch it again. Good stuff.
HI BRUCE I am not overall enthusiastic about the modern cinema as the style, content and acting tend not to suit my tastes [with a few exceptions, normally “arthouse” movies such as Sir Maurice’s 2015 Youth] Maybe it’s all an age thing and that’s why Sir Maurice’s 82 year-old character in the ironically titled Youth appeals to me so much – Sir M and I have “grown old together”!
Accordingly I have seen just one of the movies in the table above, Rampart which I went to see for Woody Harrelson’s mesmerising performance but I am unfortunately unable to recall Brie in it. However IMDB credits her with 60 acting awards and 53 nominations and she is supposed to have a net worth of $10 million.
In the 1980s TV sitcom Cheers, Woody’s character was naïve, innocent and almost puritanical in thought and deed so that the contrast between that character and the brutal, foul-mouthed loutish cop in Rampart was so great that I can’t help thinking that in the decades between Cheers and Rampart Woody must have taken lots of lessons at the John McClane School of Verbal Communication!
I still like to generally keep tabs on developments in today’s cinema so the recent run of Cogerson new pages about current performers have been very useful to me and within that context Brie’s new page too is “Voted Up” and thanks again Teach for the ‘education.’ Also I’m glad to see that you’re on my side to some extent as you’ve given Rampart and Sir Micklewhite’s Youth good ratings of 70% and 74% respectively.
Hey Bob……thanks for the input on Brie Larson. Her career is probably at the peak right now. Oscar winner for Room, lead actress in a blockbuster and many new roles coming. I liked Woody in Rampart…the movie, to me was less impressive. Just a little too bleak for my taste. Youth was a movie I enjoyed more. So when I started this comment I was 51, now I am 52…..this took a long time to write….lol. Thanks for the feedback. March 10th 2019 12:04 A.M.
Brie is not on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000 Center of the Hollywood Universe list. These are the people on the list she has appeared with starting with your buddy, Sir Michael.

Hey Dan. Thanks for sharing this information. Any list that starts off with Michael Caine has to be a good list…list. I imagine….Brie Larson will eventually work her way onto the Oracle list. Despite being less than 30….she has already turned out a decent amount of movies. With the success of Captain Marvel this weekend…I suspect her career is about to reach Jennifer Lawrence levels of fame…though it must be noted….Lawrence’s career has dipped a little of the last few years.
She has actually made 4 movies with Samuel L. Jackson….the two you listed….as well as last decade’s Farce of the Penguin and the upcoming Unicorn Store…which was made in 2017…and finally getting a release next month.
14 Oscar winners is pretty good for somebody just starting off….though I do question Kevin Spacey being on the list….that is not listed under her IMDb actress page….will do some further research to see if I am missing something. Good information as always.
You are correct, I don’t know why she is listed for Pay it Forward which knocks Hunt off too making it 12 Oscar winners and she is in Farce of the Penguins.
Add Whoopi Goldberg # 148 also for Farce of the Penguins to her which brings her total to 13 Oscar winners.
Hey Dan…..no worries….you lists are usually very accurate….I dare say I make way more errors in my data collections than you do.
Hey Dan…so from 14 down to 12…back up to 13. I suspect her total will be rapidly rising as her career progresses. The Farce of the Penguins….is pretty much an unknown movie…I could not even find a trailer for that one. So you exclusion of that movie is very understandable.
You say 24 movies but there only 23 listed
Good catch Reynolds…Farce of the Penguins did not want to cooperate….but we finally got it to upload to the page….it sits in last place….but thankfully it finally showed up.
I’ve seen 8 of the 23 films on the chart, films I didn’t even know she was in.
Favorites are – Room, Scott Pilgrim vs the World and Kong Skull Island.
I will probably go and see Captain Marvel next week. It looks like it’s going to be a huge opening weekend for this latest comic book movie. The first Marvel film with a female lead. Brie is still in her 20s.
She was excellent in Room, highly recommended.
Good stuff Bruce. Vote Up!
Someone posted this video over at my forum, Brie Larson belting out a song in Scott Pilgrim vs the World. Enjoy!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zr98L9dcwVY
Hey Steve…I have seen 15 of her movies. Like you, many I did not notice her on my first viewing. Not thinking I will ever re-visit Sleepover…..unless my little ones convince to go down that trail again…lol. Of your favorites…I liked Scott Pilgrim and Kong Skull Island as well….her role in Kong was pretty slight.
As for Captain Marvel…..reviews are good, but not as strong as other Marvel movies. I will probably be skipping this one until it reaches home entertainment. Thanks for the Larson singing video….good stuff….pretty entertaining. Thanks for the visit, comment and tally count.
