Want to know the best Bruce Willis movies?  How about the worst Bruce Willis movies?  Curious about Bruce Willis’s box office grosses or which Bruce Willis movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Bruce Willis movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences? Well you have come to the right place.

I have followed Bruce Willis’ career since he hit the big time with his star making role as David Addison on Moonlighting. I still think the Moonlighting 3 episode story arc with Mark Harmon, was some the best television I have ever seen and the pinnacle of that series.  Since Moonlighting, Bruce Willis has had a very busy career, making over 60 movies over the last 27 years. It has been a roller coaster ride…the highs….. movies like Pulp Fiction, most of the Die Hards, and The Sixth Sense…..the lows….movies like The Whole Ten Yards, Hudson Hawk, Bonfire of the Vanities and NorthHis IMDb page shows 145 acting credits since 1980.  In the table below, Ultimate Movie Rankings ranks movies in 6 different sortable columns.

Bruce Willis Movies Ranked In Chronological Order With Ultimate Movie Rankings Score (1 to 5 UMR Tickets) *Best combo of box office, reviews, and awards.

Bruce Willis Movies Can Be Ranked 6 Ways In This Table

The really cool thing about this table is that it is “user-sortable”. Rank the movies anyway you want.

  • Sort Bruce Willis movies by movie title and movie trailers.
  • Sort Bruce Willis movies by co-stars of his movies.
  • Sort Bruce Willis movies by adjusted domestic box office grosses using current movie ticket cost
  • Sort Bruce Willis movies by adjusted worldwide box office grosses using current movie ticket cost
  • Sort Bruce Willis movies how they were received by critics and audiences.  60% rating or higher should indicate a good movie.
  • Sort by how many Oscar® nominations each Bruce Willis movie received and how many Oscar® wins each Bruce Willis movie won.
  • Sort Bruce Willis movies by Ultimate Movie Rankings (UMR) Score.  UMR Score puts box office, reviews and awards into a mathematical equation and gives each movie a score.

Caron claims he tested Willis about a third of the way through testing over 2,000 actors, knew “this was the guy” immediately, and had to fight through twice as many more acting tests and readings while arguing with ABC executives before receiving (initial) conditional authorization to cast Willis in the pilot. ABC, according to Caron, did not feel that anyone viewing would think there could possibly be any “believable” sexual tension between Shepherd and Willis.

  1. Hi Bruce, Thanks for following me. It’s a small thing to do but much appreciated. We both seem to have created a huge database resulting from an immense desire to order and rank movies. I started the http://www.allzthings.com project about 8 years ago and you started around that same time. I understand what you do, but want to let you know that the Search UMR box is not working properly (at least I think so, I searched for Die Hard and got -> Sorry, but nothing matched your search terms.). (It did work on “Alien” so maybe I don’t fully understand something.) I also notice you put tremendous amounts of effort and time in UMR and maybe you’d like to have some return on investment at one point in time. You already succeeded in things that I can only dream of: over 1 million views a month, 36.000 movies ranked, … a crowded forum. We now have some 3.600 movies in, all heavily detailed and with at least one matching physical release listed, so that’s only 10% of where you are. However, what we do seems very compatible, and maybe we can do something together, even on a commercial level. Listing physical releases is the core of what we are doing. We call them “Specific Things” (ST). That is different from sites like IMDB, Letterboxed or UMR as they only treat what we call “Global Things” (GT). We also treat Global Things but use them to group all possible Specific Things. Search for “Alien” and you will immediately see how that works. Thus we create a reference point for every ST, for GT and also for all the creative people behind the things, named the Endpoints (as that is where we end and Wikipedia begins). I notice you also rank Endpoints what is totally cool. Once those reference points are in place, you can attach al kind of info to them: – You Tube movies (trailers, unboxing, interview, reviews, …) – Written reviews (maybe we may use your reviews ?) – A rating (maybe an UMR rating ?) and users can do a lot with those entries: – adding them to collection(s) – adding them to wantlists – sell them – buy them … The possibility for people to sell their ST’s will be the basis for the marketplace, and just like any marketplace around, that will generate fees at some point. The idea is to share those fees with the people who help building this project by adding their releases. That’s in short what I’d like to discuss with you.

  2. Hi, Bruce.

I just read this story on imdb and thought you might be interested since you love Bruce Willis so much and there has been lots of discussion on your Christmas movie page about Die Hard. At his recent Comedy Central roast, Bruce Willis said that Die Hard is not a Christmas movie. It’s a Bruce Willis movie.

    1. Hey Flora….thanks for the Bruce information. I forgot all about his roast….. I will have to check that one out. So Bruce is saying it is not a Christmas movie……..sad to see he is so confused about this topic….lol.

  3. I disappoint myself. I have not seen 15 bruce willis movies. some intentionally: beavis and butthead do america, rugrats go wild, with Justin timberlack(sic), with Dwayne Johnson, fast food nation. I will see them all and maybe the straight to dvd you listed. I may need to suffer to be a true follower of bruce and bruce. wish I was joking. I have never seen every movie by an actor.

    1. Hey bob cox….I think you can be forgiven…..that still means you have seen a lot of Bruce Willis movies. The Justin Timberlake/Bruce Willis movie, Alpha Dog, is actually pretty well done. Gotta give Timberlake credit he does a good job in the role….with is loaded with lots of good small roles. Has a good cast too. Anton Yelchin (RIP), Ben Foster, Sharon Stone, Emile Hirsch and others.

I am currently 3 movies behind in my Bruce viewing….have not seen Death Wish (I know I am ashamed I did not see it in theaters), or his most recent Crap to DVD movies First Kill and An Act of Violence. But I will…..lol.

  4. using incredible UMR sorting on 500 top UMR movies, really top 1000.
I find that Armageddon is now number 204 in adjusted domestic box office. yea Cogerson, yea WoC, yea UMR, yea Willis.
