Carrie Fisher Movies

Want to know the best Carrie Fisher movies?  How about the worst Carrie Fisher movies?  Curious about Carrie Fisher box office grosses or which Carrie Fisher movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Carrie Fisher movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.

Carrie Fisher (1956-2016) was an American actress and writer.  She will forever be known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars movies.   Carrie Fisher’s IMDb page shows 90 acting credits from 1969-2017. This page will rank 29 Carrie Fisher movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television shows, shorts, video games and movies that were not released in North American theaters were not included in the rankings.  To do well in our overall rankings a movie has to do well at the box office, get good reviews by critics, be liked by audiences and get some award recognition.

Drivel part of the page:  When Ray “Scarecrow” Bolger passed away in 1987….I remember my grandmother being sad about his passing….and how that meant that all the main actors from 1939’s The Wizard of Oz (one of her two favorite movies) were no longer with us.  At the time I did not really understand why she was sad.  As I have gotten older….I now understand what she was feeling.  To me 1977’s Star Wars is the movie I am emotional attached to like my grandmother was attached to The Wizard of Oz. So far…knock on wood….almost all the Star Wars main actors, with a few exceptions (RIP Alec Guinness, Peter Cushings & Kenny Baker) are still with us.

Well as I type these words….Carrie Fisher is in intensive care after suffering a massive heart attack while flying from London to Los Angeles.  This is now two years in a row that a Star Wars alumni has had an issue with a plane (Harrison Ford’s plane crash was in 2015).  Both times the news has hit me hard….as it feels almost like a family member is in harm’s way.  Hoping…like with the news with Harrison….that we get good news in the upcoming hours and days.  May the force be with you Princess Leia.  And Mr. Hamill…you might want to stay away from planes in 2017.  12/24/16

I admit it….as a teenager I had a crush on Princess Leia

  1. I thought her Force Awakens performance was her career best (not just Star Wars best) and am looking forward to seeing her in the next installment. Hoping she has many more films ahead of her.

    1. Hey Chris….I agree with you 100%……fingers crossed that Carrie Fisher will be recovered by the time they start making Star Wars 9.

  2. I agree this is disturbing news. I am younger than you so by the time I was into Star Wars all three movies were readily available on VHS. But my sister and I watched those movies over and over. Hopefully good news is coming. I liked your drivel part of the page.

    1. Just went and got an update on her condition and sadly it is being reported that she passed on. Hopefully those reports are wrong.

        1. Thankfully that was a false post from a Star Wars troll. Please delete my comment as I do not wish to spread any mean spirited rumors on her.

      1. Hey Stein….some people are just not nice….why would they even want to joke about somebody passing away….makes me shake my head in disgust.

    2. Hey Stein….glad you liked my drivel part of the page….basically I wanted people to realized I got the page done so quickly was because she has seemed a part of my life for a very long time…versus doing the page as “view getter”. I hope that good news is coming too.

  3. Gosh you’re fast Bruce! I hope she’s recovering from that massive heart attack. It gave everyone a scare this Xmas.

Let’s see my favorite picture on the page is the one from Return of the Jedi. 🙂

I’ve seen 14 of the 29 films listed. Favorites are the Star Wars films, The Blues Brothers and The Burbs (my most watched Tom Hanks movie).

It’s good to see A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back topping the charts, I don’t think they had much competition here.

Turned down the role of Sarah Connor in Terminator, did not know this, I wonder if she regretted it.

Good stuff as always Bruce. Vote Up!

    Mark Hamill next?

    1. Some of these celebrity issues get me motivated to do an UMR page. It is generally the ones that I feel attached to in some way. With Carrie Fisher it was Star Wars and the impact it had on me. I have seen 16 of her movies….so I have you by 2 movies. I agree the first two Star Wars movies did not have much competition. Star Wars is one of the highest rated movies in my entire 30,000 plus movie database. It is fun to think she could have Harrison Forded it…and be the anchor for two awesome franchises…..too bad she did not take the role. Thanks for checking out my “make me feel better” Carrie Fisher page.
