  1. I’ve seen just 5 of the 22 films on the chart. Favorites are – All About Eve, High Society and Road House. I’ve also seen 3 Men and a Baby & Gentleman’s Agreement.

All About Eve easily tops the critics and UMR chart.

    Good stuff. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve. As always thanks for the visit, the comment, the tally count, and for sharing your movie wisdom with us. I have seen four of the five you have seen. I have not seen her version of roadhouse, I suspect it’s drastically different than the cult classic roadhouse by Patrick Swayze. I saw three men and a baby in theaters, and probably didn’t even notice her role in that one. I thought it was a movie fan back then but maybe I was not…..lol.Good stuff as always.

      1. The only thing that Celeste Holm’s movie entitled Road House has in common with Patrick’s film is the title. The later film is not a remake

  2. 50 years ago this fall, NBC debuted the awful comedy series Nancy, featuring Ms. Celeste Holm. I was a kid then and the whole show was just smooching to me. It was about the president’s daughter and her boyfriend who worked in the administration so they had to keep the whole affair. It was an alleged comedy series. It starred the immortal Renee Jarrett and John Fink. What with CBS having the Governor and JJ on which featured JJ (gov’s daughter) it was a political offspring time on TV. Weren’t the Nixon years great.

Celeste never was on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000; these are the actors on the 2020 list she appeared with.

    1. Hey Dan…..thanks for checking out our Celeste Holm page. Even more thanks for the Holm trivia lists. I have not even heard of Nancy….but it does not sound like a winner. Renee Jarrett and John Fink are indeed immortals…lol. Not many people on the first list….but Frank Sinatra gets the honors as Most Frequent Oracle co-star. Looking at the second list…two movies give her most of her Oscar winning co-stars….All About Eve and High Society. Good stuff as always.

  3. I have seen 9 Celeste Holm movies, 7 of them in the top 10 and all of them in the top 15.

The HIGHEST rated movie I have seen is All about Eve.

The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is The Snake Pit.

The LOWEST rated movie I have seen is Champagne For Caesar.

Favourite Celeste Holm Movies I Have Seen:

    All about Eve
    A Letter to Three Wives
    High Society
    Road House
    The Tender Trap
    Champagne For Caesar

Other Celeste Holm Movies I Have Seen:

    Gentleman’s Agreement
    3 Men and a Baby
    Chicken Every Sunday

I hope everything is going well and W of C will be able to transfer everything

    1. Hey Flora…thanks for checking out our Celeste Holm movie page. I have seen 6 of her movies, so I am only three movies behind you…which surprises me. Of the 6 I have seen…all of them are in the Top 7. I have seen 3 of your favorites…with A Letter To Three Wives being my favorite. All About Eve is a classic….but not one of my favorites. Gentleman’s Agreement won the Best Picture Oscar….but I found the movie very very dated. Not one of my favorite Peck movies. Speaking of Mr. Gregory Peck…I am watching his Mirage as I type this comment. I am about a hour in, and it is confusing…but I am enjoying it. It is a Charade reunion with Walter Matthau and George Kennedy that I was unaware even existed. Good stuff as always.

    1. Thanks Mike. As I have mentioned in some other comments, the UMR database is currently out of commission. We did get some traction in accessing the internet part of the website yesterday. That has allowed us to be able to produce some new material. Granted it has to be a subject that was already researched and sent to the “cloud”. Celeste Holm was one of the ones I had researched before….she was one of two classic stars that were ready to go. The rest are current stars (mainly those that made the book…A. Seyfried, J. Turturro and a few others).

Hopefully by the time we get the database back…..we will still have some of those subjects left to produce new material for the website. As for the database…WoC has described it as brain surgery…..for years we have added thousands of links to our database….pretty much like the neurons in the brain. We have had to buy a new computer, a new back up storage platform and some other stuff…..now we (ok…WoC) has to take the database from the old platforms and move it into the new platforms…while keeping all the links/neurons working. Obviously with this many links and connections getting it back 100% is going to take some time. Hopefully this will fix the problem for years….as the expenses of this meltdown are way more that I wanted to spend for this hobby of mine.
