    1. Holy crap! This is shocking news. Thanks for the headsup Mike. Sad news for the his family and friends and the Marvel world. Rest in peace Chadwick Boseman.

  1. Orson Welles was partial to debunking pomposity especially related to name-dropping and when a British TV interviewer [obviously fishing for Orson to wax lyrical over some Brit like Laughton or one of England’s actor knights] asked Welles who he though was the greatest actor of all time Welles mischievously replied that the accolade belonged to a Mexican extra who had worked on one of his movies.

The startled interviewer replied that nobody had ever heard of the actor named to which Orson said that the guy concerned had no interest in an acting career and decided to return to Mexico to work in the fields. I sometimes expect that Mexican “all time great” to turn up on one of this site’s new pages as these days performers are appearing here who don’t mean a lot to me! However it’s always good to learn about a fresh personality and of course a few years ago I had never heard of The Master. – and think what I was missing before I knew about HIM!

Although Chadwick Boseman made his first feature film in 2008 he had been on TV and in short films since 2003 as reflected in the lead-in write-up above. He is the main star of 4 of the films listed in the table, two of them being $100 million crashers. He has another Avengers ensemble movie at post production stage and is currently filming 17 Bridges in which he again takes the lead.

All of that is very good for a relative newcomer to the silver screen who has reportedly built up a net personal fortune of $8 million. IMDB credits Chad with 6 acting awards and 22 nominations of various kinds. Chadwick says that Denzel Washington [my own 2nd fave African American actor after Morgan Freeman] paid for Chadwick to take acting training in his early days so “Vote Up!”

    1. Hey Bob. Thanks for the thoughts on Chadwick Boseman. Good story on Orson Welles. Boseman has become one of the bigger stars working theses days. Thanks for the information on his television work, his awards and his net worth. Good stuff as always.

  2. Hey Steve…..I have seen 5 of his movies…with Black Panther and Marshall being the ones I have not seen. You are correct the reviews for Black Panther have been stellar. I know it is early…but I see this being the first superhero movie getting a Best Picture Oscar nomination…..only 11 months to see if I am correct. Thanks for checking out this quickly rising star.

  3. Thus far I’ve only seen Chadwick in Captain America Civil War but I’m hoping to see Black Panther some time next week. The reviews have been stellar.
