Cher Movies Can Be Ranked 6 Ways In This Table

The really cool thing about this table is that it is “user-sortable”. Rank the movies anyway you want.

  • Sort Cher movies by co-stars of her movies.
  • Sort Cher movies by adjusted domestic box office grosses using current movie ticket cost (in millions)
  • Sort Cher movies by yearly domestic box office rank
  • Sort Cher movies how they were received by critics and audiences.  60% rating or higher should indicate a good movie.
  • Sort by how many Oscar® nominations each Cher movie received and how many Oscar® wins each Cher movie won.
  • Sort Cher movies by Ultimate Movie Rankings (UMR) Score.  UMR Score puts box office, reviews, and awards into a mathematical equation and gives each movie a score.

  1. “If I Could Turn Back Time” for would “Believe” how big a fan I am of Cher “I Got You Babe” I am. I love everything she does. From the movies listed here to the movies. Just saw Mamma Mia 2, and though her part is small, she steals the show. So good to see her and Meryl back on screen together. Cher is without a doubt making being 70 being sexy. Shared and liked on facebook.

    1. Hey Nickii4u1972….I really like this comment. You sound like a true Cher fan. Good to know Cher has a good role in Mamma Mia 2. Yep Streep and Cher were co-stars almost 40 years ago……they really bonded on the set of Silkwood. Thanks for sharing this page….it is greatly appreciated.

  2. saw 6 of top 7 missed mamma mia sequel 2018. one 10, moonstruck. no favorites. I loved her work. why only 3 movies 1990 to 2010? 4 good movies, one very good, one great, so lets stop. was it too easy? Wikipedia implies she was too cautious after winning her Oscar. also says she withdrew from work due to contracting mono( Epstein barr virus) and developing chronic fatigue syndrome. a great singer, a great actress, a fascinating persona (including penchant for young companions : tom cruise, jon bon jovi, Gregg allman, val kilmer, eric Stoltz, others). thanks for another Oscar winner, bruce. also winner of grammy and emmy. 3 other female performers have won these 3 Barbra, Julie Andrews , kate winslet. all 4 missing a tony except Barbra who received an honorary tony. others who won all four helen hayes, rita moreno, liza Minelli (one honorary), whoopi Goldberg (includes host and producer), Audrey hepburn . incredible company.

    1. Hey bob cox
      1. Your tally count is right behind my total of 7.
      2. I have seen 6 of her Top 8….like you I have not seen Mamma Mia 2….and Mermaids. I will eventually see Mamma Mia 2….might not ever see Mermaids.
      3. Her movie output is low….but when comparing it to Barbra Streisand the totals are pretty close…Babs at 19, Cher at 15.
      4. I think their first love was singing…the actor was a perk versus a Love for both of them.
      5. She personal life has been very interesting for sure.
      6. That is a good collection of award winning thespians and singers.
      Good feedback as always.

  3. Love her. Mask, Witches of Eastwick and Moonstruck are my favorites. She is equally impressive on stage as a singer. Glad to see this article. Sharing in my favorite Cher webpage.

    1. Hey Sandy…your Top 3 are all great movies. Glad to hear she is good on stage. I have heard good things about her shows. Thanks for the share…it is greatly appreciated.

  4. Hi, Bruce. This page did show up as the post of the day. It does not show up at the very top of your page of highlighted pages. I am thinking of you on your trip this weekend.

II have seen 4 Cher movies. In order of preference, they are:

    Moonstruck
Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean
    The Witches of Eastwick
    Tea With Mussolini

    1. Hey Flora
      1. I can set the post in advance…but not the menus……so I will have to add Cher and Sunday’s new page when we get back either late Sunday or early Monday.
      2. I was actually working on 4 new pages…when WoC suggested leaving Thursday night versus Friday morning. So I was only able to finish 2 of the 4 pages.
      3. A tally of 4 is pretty good…I would classify her as a modern star…..since most of her movies were made after 1980.
      4. I actually saw Moonstruck and Witches of Eastwick in theaters….have not seen the other two you have seen.
      5. As always…thanks for the visit, comment and tally count.

  5. Put together a couple of pages before we left for Florida…..I have seen 7 of these movies…including the Top 4. Hopefully it will show up as the post of the day……until…then…have a great weekend.
