Christopher Walken Movies

If Christopher Walken (1943-) is not the best character actor performing right now , then he is close to the top of that list. When I think of Mr. Walken, the following movies scenes pop into my head. His Colonel Koons telling young Butch Coolidge about the history of Butch’s watch in the classic Pulp Fiction (1994).  His interrogation of Dennis Hooper in True Romance (1993).  And of course playing Russian roulette with Robert DeNiro in The Deer Hunter (1978).

Christopher Walken has been appearing in movies since 1969. He became an overnight sensation 8 years later with his Oscar® winning performance in The Deer Hunter (1969).  After a few lead roles, he pretty much slipped into supporting roles.  It is a role that suites him pretty well.

His IMDb page shows 133 acting credits since 1969. This page will rank 73 Christopher Walken movies from Best to Worst in five different sortable columns of information. Television shows, shorts, cameos and movies that were not released in theaters were not included in the rankings.

  1. A page making a come back! Good…..because I obviously missed it 1st. time around. yes…here she is….the lady who doesn’t go to the movies. But, eventually I do see them at home! Since I love comedies and make sure I see them all…I have to say that I loved Walken in Wedding Crashers…..that entire movie was a triple hoot. And I’m sure this doesn’t count, but Christopher Walken in an SNL. skit with Will Farrell was FUNNY! “We need more Cow Bell.”……did you see it?….Look it up if you didn’t.

    1. Hey effer….thanks for checking out my remodeled hub….when I first started on HubPages…it took me about 6 months to final decide on a format that I really liked….well I was very productive those first 6 months….and have been trying to remodel all of those hubs ….and after this one….I only have 10 more to remodel….I know way too much information.

I agree with you about Walken and his comedic talents….he is awesome in Wedding Crashers…and his many stints as Saturday Night Live host are legendary. His comedy and dancing skills seem to take a backseat to his creepy movie roles that he seems to always appear in….thanks for the visit and the comment.

  2. Great page. I love Christopher Walken. He is so strange and awkward and a great actor. His weirdness makes him even more awesome. Watching him dance in Fatboy Slim’s video was fantastic too.

    1. Hey SkeetyD….thanks for the visit….I sometimes think his dancing skills are forgotten….but he is a great dancer and his Fatboy Slim’s video is classic as well….thanks for the comment.

  3. I really like this guy’s acting. I think I have seen almost all of his movies. I am shocked that it has been 5 years since he was in a movie. But I think 7 Pschopaths is a perfrect movie from him. Nice article on the man. I agree with you he is one of the best suporting actors going around toady.

    1. Hey Shaun…I am right there with you…..it is indeed hard to believe that 5 years have passed since his last major release…..and he has another one coming down the path after Seven Psychopaths….thanks for the visit.

  4. Outstanding and One of a kind. We all can agree on this.

There is no other like Chris. He has a certain style.

And we love that in him. I enjoy watching him act in any

movie. Where ever the story may lead you to. Chris is

Chris no matter what role he is in to protray. There is no doubt he is one of the best actors that we have today. So if he brings any disappointments to your likings then you know where you go. Heres to you f.t.w. performed by icp. And another, Ha Ha!

    1. Hey jugglette. Thanks for the comment. I agree with you 100% about Walken being one of a kind. I am sadden that it seems like he is starting to slow down…..but he has given us so many quirky memorable roles.

  5. He is definitely one of my favorite actors. I loved “Sleepy Hollow”… seeing him and Johnny Depp on screen together was perfection

    1. Hey Phoebe ….thanks for stopping by….I was just listening to the Sleepy Hollow commentary the other day…and they(Tim Burton) was talking about how awesome Walken is and the fact that Sleepy Hollow has his first ever screen kiss…although it is a little hard to call that a screen kiss….lol. Thanks for stopping by.
