Clint Walker Movies

Norman EugeneClintWalker (May 30, 1927 – May 21, 2018) was an American actor and singer. He became well known for his starring role as cowboy Cheyenne Bodie in the western series Cheyenne from 1955 to 1963.   His movie career included The Ten Commandments, The Dirty Dozen, Send Me No Flowers and Yellowstone Kelly.  Speaking of his Yellowstone Kelly…..that was the first movie my mom and dad saw together as a couple.  Rest in Peace Mr. Clint Walker.

  1. Another actor I find out about dying from your website.

When I count 1959 pictures I send the ones I’ve seen 1992 and say as more modern comes more were seen as currents. I saw his 1959 flic Yellowstone Kelly in summer camp back in the sixties.

I used to watch a TV series Bronco last year off TV and it alternated with Clint’s Cheyenne when it originally was on. While I’ve never seen Cheyenne I think, Bronco would use the Cheyenne opening and then it would say, this week Bronco. It also alternated with another western Sugarfoot. In its first season it alternated with a TV version of Casablanca!

While we had to add Thomas Mitchell and Elsa Lancaster to our database Clint was in it, go figure.

    Clint was never on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000 Center of the Hollywood Universe list. These are the actors on the 2016 list he appeared with;

    1. Hey Dan
      1. Thanks for checking out our Clint tribute page.
      2. Good to hear another Yellowstone Kelly story….seems my dad told me about that movie many times……I guess I should see it…lol.
      3. So Clint made the database….while Oscar winner Mitchell and Oscar nominee Elsa did not……very interesting.
      4. First list….lots of people on the current list…..with Small Soldiers, Dirty Dozen and The White Buffalo being mentioned many times.
      5. Second list….actually a much smaller list than I was expecting….and no Bess Flowers…how can that be?…..lol.
      6. Sir Caine was probably not too concerned Walker was going to catch up with him…but he has a pretty impressive Oscar winning co-star list.
Good feedback as always….thanks for sharing it on our Walker tribute page.

  2. Sad news but to be honest I thought he had passed on years ago. 91 years old, we should be so lucky. RIP Clint.

He hasn’t been in many films, more famous on TV I guess? I’ve seen 6 of the 15 films on the chart – The Dirty Dozen, The Ten Commandments (can he actually be spotted in DeMilles epic?), None But the Brave, The White Buffalo, Night of the Grizzly and Small Soldiers.

He was most memorable as Posey in The Dirty Dozen, one of my favorite war movies. Good to see that doing well on the charts.

A nice tribute page Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve. Thanks for checking out our Clint Walker page. Yep…he made it to 91….and seemed to be in decent health most of his life…..we indeed should all be so lucky. I have also seen 6 of his movie….including 4 of the 6 you have seen. Have not seen The White Buffalo…but the attached trailer looks horrible. Seems most of the articles on his passing mentioned The Dirty Dozen and his television show. RIP Mr. Walker.

  3. He was the perfect specimen of a man. Tall, broad shoulders and deep voice with an easy smile. One of my all time favorites for sure.

    1. Hey Shauna….thanks for sharing your thoughts on Clint Walker….glad he was one of your favorites…..sorry that it took his passing for us to give him some UMR attention. RIP Mr. Clint Walker.

  4. Thanks for doing a Clint Walker page just as the big guy leaves us. I have seen 6 of his films, but in all honesty, I cannot remember his part in The Ten Commandments. I believe it must have been a very small role he did just before he became famous with the Cheyenne TV series. I do remember him well however in The Dirty Dozen, and in Send Me No Flowers, where he made Rock Hudson seem puny. I also remember him co-starring with a young Roger Moore in the B-western, Gold of the Seven Saints. RIP Clint Walker!

    1. Hey PhilHOF17
      1. Seems his part in The Ten Commandments is not remembered by anybody. Steve and G. Vandross love that movie and they are unaware of his part.
      2. There is a great story about how he got the part……on the way to his audition….Walker stopped and helped a lady fix her tire. This caused him to be late. When he arrived…Cecil B. DeMille….said. “Your late”…..to which Walker explained why….and DeMille said….”I know….the lady you helped was my secretary”…..Walker got the part.
      3. He was the 7th member of the Dirty Dozen to pass away…..Donald Sutherland and Jim Brown are the famous of the remaining 5.
      4. He was funny in Send Me No Flowers…and you are right he made Hudson look very small.
      RIP Mr. Walker.
