  1. As Bruce suggests above Dan Stevens really made a name for himself in the TV series Downton Abbey. A few familiar faces from the big screen were in that series: Dame Maggie Smith/Shirley MacLaine in a cameo but for just 3 episodes in 2012-13/ and Elizabeth McGovern

Elizabeth had really impressed me way back in 1990 as Sir Maurice Micklewhite’s mistress in A Shock to the System-possibly my own fave Micklewhite film after the Harry Palmer movies/Educating Myrna/ and Alfie

Most of the rest of Downton’s massive cast were unknown to me and Dan was among the unknowns; but he is THE one that made the greatest impact on me at the time and it doesn’t surprise me that he has created a firm enough body of big screen work to merit a Cogerson page. “

According to Celebrity Net Worth site Dan has a current net worth of $4 million which is good for a big-screen relative-newcomer British thespian whose roots were in television and stage: 17 and 9 productions in each medium respectively from 2004 until the present.

Dan with his fine speaking voice has also narrated a massive number of audio books and has been very prolific too in radio and audio drama [with one podcast thrown in last year for good measure]. In the pipeline for him are a movie at post production stage and [tentatively] a TV series, Voted UP!”

  2. I’ve watched new kid on the block Dan Stevens in 5 films so far.

Favorites are Beauty and the Beast and Night at the Museum. But I also enjoyed Call of the Wild and the Eurovision Song Contest movie. I also saw Colossal, which was a strange monster movie.

Looking at the chart Beauty and the Beast was a massive success, I wonder if the days of massive cinema hits will ever return. Depends on Covid and if it ever goes away.

    Nice work Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve….thanks for checking out our Dan Stevens page. I have actually seen 16 of his movies. Most recently, last night I watched The Rental (ave (James Franco’s little brother (Dave) first directed movie)). It was ok. I like you enjoyed Eurovision Song Contest. Some little known movies worth checking out….Criminal Activities (first movie directed by Jackie Earl Haley) and The Guest (a fun movie). Overall I liked Call of the Wild….but I did not like his performance at all….way too over the top….it was like he was in a comedy and Ford was in a drama. Thanks for the vote up. Good stuff as always.

    1. Hey Dan….a page on another Dan. Is he the first Dan? I know he is not the first Stevens. I think his career is picking up steam, though I doubt he will ever have anything close to the success of The Beauty and the Beast. I actually just watched his The Rental last night….which was not too impressive. 6 actors in the Top 100….that is not too bad of a start. For some reason he reminds me of Cary Elwes…granted…they are both men, blonde, English and considered good looking. 12 Oscar winners is pretty good. Good stuff as always.

FYI…I think his total is 11….as Kate Hudson has one Oscar nomination…but no wins. She got a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Almost Famous.
