Why I watched this one? Seen all of the Star Wars movies in theaters …why stop now? (ok not all of them….I like everybody else, did not see The Clone Wars in theaters) Amazingly, I was able to get a ticket to the first showing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in my area, just 45 minutes before the movie started.
What is this one about? Having taken her first steps into the Jedi world, Rey joins Luke Skywalker on an adventure with Leia, Finn and Poe that unlocks mysteries of the Force and secrets of the past.
My thoughts on this one? LOVED THIS MOVIE! Before I start raving on this one let me briefly mention the things keeping it from a 5 star movie in my opinion. (1) Many of the jokes in the movie fall flat. (2) The new “Baby Groot like” character is a waste of time. (3) First half of movie moved slowly. Ok….enough bad stuff.
The good to great stuff. (1) Mark Hamill/Luke Skywalker is AWESOME in the movie. (2) For the first time since Return of the Jedi…we actually got a new story line in a Star Wars movie (The Force Awakens was like a re-boot vs a sequel). I did not know where this movie was going….and I loved it. (3) Adam Driver is sensational as Ben Solo….especially in the second half of the movie. (4) The twists and turns of the movie are fun to experience. (5) Carrie Fisher goes out on top with her performance in her final movie. (6) Daisy Ridley shines as the heroine. (7) The music by John Williams, is of course STELLAR. (8) With the exception of Snoke’s lair (it looks like a set from the 1960’s Star Trek series) loved all the sets, costumes and general look of the movie.
Final thought: Best Star Wars movie since The Empire Strikes Back! A must see for not only Star Wars fans but all movie fans. Will see it again..and soon!

Hey anonymous…..I actually did not like Return of the Jedi as much as Star Wars and Empire. I blame the fact that I got older. I saw the first one when I was 10….and it was amazing…by the time I saw Return of the Jedi….I was a jaded teenager who was only interested in getting a car….so the muppets really were bothersome. My top 3 are the first two and now this one….I wonder if time will be kind to the Last Jedi. When I wrote the review….I was on cloud nine about it….but now days later I am thinking about some storylines that I realize did not make a whole lot of sense….but right now it has the third spot. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey Anonymous…..sadly….WoC…was not able to go. She is currently doing a training class in Washington DC…..and has left me alone for almost an entire week. But we will be going when she gets back….if she wants to go. She had actually not seen a Star Wars movie before BC (Before Cogerson)….but under my guidance she has actually seen the last three in theaters….lol.
