    1. As always good to hear from you Pierre. Good point about him being so big back then and yet hardly remembered today. Currently my tally is two, but I suspect I have seen him in more movies but I do not remember him. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Mr. Morgan.

  2. Only heard of a few of these movies. Interesting trivia who would have thought he was the top paid and greatest fan mailer for Warner Brothers.

    1. Hey Taylor. Thanks for checking out our Dennis Morgan page. Not thinking many non-classic movie fans are too aware of him. Like you, I enjoyed the trivia about him too. Good stuff.

  3. I always thought that the actor who is in the Doctor X picture with Dennis Morgan you have there, Wayne Morris should have had a movie made about him. He had a highly decorated war record in World War II but when he came back to Hollywood no one seemed to notice. He died in 1959 at 45, suffering a heart attack on a carrier he was visiting his former commander on. Back to Dennis, he has never been on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000 Center of the Hollywood Universe list. Here are the actors on the list who Dennis has appeared with (a lot of credit to Won Ton Ton).

    1. Hey Dan. As always great information from your database. That is interesting about Wayne Morris, I have never of him before. It is a shame that he died so young. I am not surprised he is not on the current Oracle list. I have never seen Won Ton Ton before, but there are so many UMR subjects in that movie, that I want to see it. It looks like Bruce Dern will keep him attached to the oracle list for a long time. Heck, Dern’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is loaded with stars. Who knew he had made so many movies with Jane Wyman? I would say 26 Oscar winners is below average. Good stuff as always.

  4. Unlike Steve, I’m quite familiar with Dennis Morgan. His films often air on TCM.

I have seen 18 Dennis Morgan movies, including 8 of the top 10 and 15 of the top 20.

The HIGHEST rated movie I have seen is Kitty Foyle.

The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is God is My Co-Pilot.

The LOWEST rated movie I have seen is Affectionately Yours.

    Favourite Dennis Morgan movies:

    Christmas in Connecticut
    Kitty Foyle
    The Hard Way
    Captain of the Clouds
    The Fighting 69th

    Hollywood Canteen
    My Wild Irish Rose

Other Dennis Morgan Movies I’ve Seen:

The Time, The Place and the Girl

    Painting the Clouds with Sunshine
    This Woman is Dangerous
    It’s a Great Feeling

    1. Hey Flora. As always thanks for the great comment. I figured you would know who Dennis Morgan was. Your knowledge of classic movies is beyond compare, especially in comparison to me and Steve. You’re 18 movies watch is nine times my total. I will have to check out some of your favorite Dennis Morgan movies, in the near future. He was a much bigger star than I would’ve ever guessed. Getting more fan mail and earning more than any other Warner Bros. star is truly impressive. As always …..good stuff.

  5. Hmm I’m not too familiar with the actor Dennis Morgan, let’s see if I’ve seen any of his films…

I count 5 films from the chart that I know I’ve seen – Thank Your Lucky Stars, Hollywood Canteen, Captain of the Clouds, The Fighting 69th and The Return of Doctor X.

And I still don’t know who Dennis Morgan is… 🙂

I’ve heard of Frank Morgan – the great and powerful Wizard of Oz!

And than there’s Henry Morgan, that great pirate of the Caribbean… [enough Steve!)

    Nice work Bruce, Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve as always thanks for the comment visit and tally count. Like you I was not too familiar with Dennis Morgan. It is only because of the website that I started seeing his name. My tally count is a lowly two. So your total of 5 nearly triples my total. I was really surprised to see how popular he was during his stay at Warner Bros. I was glad that I found so many of his worldwide box office numbers. That is one of the benefits of doing this website…..learning about unknown to me movie stars. One day I might have a page on Harry and Frank Morgan. But for now we will have to settle for Dennis. As always thanks for the feedback.
