Happy 96th birthday, Eva Marie Saint!
Happy 95th birthday to Eva Marie Saint! I just watched North By Northwest last night.
Hey Flora….whew….what a relief….when I saw you commenteed on our EMS page….my first thought was….”Oh no…she passed away.”….so glad to say….that it is her 95th birthday…..happy birthday to a screen legend. Good information.
Congrats on your victory, Bruce! Acceptance speech? Or are you planning on doing a Brando?
Bob Hope- I can’t help it. Even leading ladies like Hedy Lamarr, Jane Wyman, Dorothy Lamour or Lana Turner haven’t convinced me yet to slave through another one of his movies. I have seen a few of his films, so it’s not like I’m talking about something I haven’t got a clue about.
So over to Margaret’s page now!
Like Flora, I’ve seen 9 movies of the 20 listed above. Being a big fan of North by Northwest, I guess this is my favorite Eva Marie Saint movie. But I also love A Hatful of Rain, On the Waterfront and Raintree County in all it’s overblown attempt to become another Gone with the Wind. Another movie I really enjoyed was 36 Hours. Since I avoid movies starring Mr. Hope, I have no clue wether Miss Saint is as adept at comedy as she certainly is at drama, but I really love the quote about her being Faye Dunaway with warmth…even though I never seen Leoj Nrohhcsrih commenting here before? Maybe one day he will be kind enough to share his thoughts on Margaret Sullavan’s page- I don’t think he ever heard about Sylvia Sidney, though…does he qualify????
Hey Lupino
1. Tally count…me 12, you and Flora 9 and Steve 7…..now that does not happen too often..me being on top.
2. I like your Top 2….though it is probably hard to find many people that did not like North by Northwest and On The Waterfront.
3. I did not realize you were not a fan of Bob Hope…..Eva made two movies with Hope…including Hope’s last movie Cancel My Reservation.
4. Glad you liked the comment by Leoj Nrohhcsrih……he has some thoughts on Sullavan but not Sidney…I will add that comment on her page right after I finish this page….and then I am calling it a night.
Thanks for the feedback, visit, kind words and the tally counts…..glad to see your name show up on the forum feed.
