“…. very interesting book…… if you want to know the biggest movie star in the history, just read this book.” – Laurent
“Bruce Cogerson has written an excellent resource on top movie stars for film lovers. This book is jam packed with statistics on 50 top movie stars on their highest ranked movies by award recognition, top 25 box office hits, critical review scores and overall UMR scores. This takes out bias by personal preference. I have put stars next to my favourite titles and check marks next to other titles I have seen and will use it to keep track of films I love and need to see. This guide will have a treasured spot in my library.” – Flora

Attention UMR Hall of Fame contributors. We know many of you bought the e-book……we (WoC and I) would like to send you a free copy of this book. Send your address to cogersonmoviescore@gmail.com and we will send you a copy. Thanks for all of your support over the years.
Congrats on publishing a book we can physically touch! 😉
Sadly the future looks entirely digital, there will be no more books, magazines, DVDs, CDs to collect. Your entire collection will be located on a tiny memory card. Every movie ever made will be streamed to various devices. Great if you’re always on the move. But I love looking at a long wall filled with DVDs and Blu-rays. 🙂
Hey Steve. Thanks for the kind words. Do you want us to send you a copy of the book? My copy is due today. I was actually reading some stats on real books versus e-books….and apparently real books have for the time, regained some market share.
As for DVD cases…I am right there with you. I love my massive DVD cases that hold almost 1200 DVDs. Not thinking I will enjoy my future “cloud” as much as I have enjoyed my DVD cases. Thanks for the feedback.
Bruce, thanks for the offer but it’s not expensive I’ll send off for it. Cheers.
Almost 1200 DVDs is impressive. I have just over 1600 Blu-rays and about 2500 DVDs (which includes doubles and trebles). My bookshelves are deep enough to hold more DVDs behind so I can save space). I’ve been collecting these shiny discs since the late 1990s, after wasting a lot of money on VHS tape.
That works too. My first batch of books….arrived today (just added a photo)….one of them is proudly on my movie book shelf. I know the pain of spending money on technology that no longer exists. I spend thousands on laserdiscs, betas and vhs. Currently we have three VHS tapes in the entire house. A Shock To The System, The African Queen and Wizard of Oz. The last two, came from my late grandmother’s collection. Her only two VHS tapes. Thanks for the support….the acknowledgement section is slightly different than the e-book…..but you still have a mention.
AWESOME….Cracked The Top 50 on one of Amazon’s Best Sellers List. A long way to go to reach the big list…..but you gotta take small victories when they happen.
Cracked the Top 20. Doing the happy dance.
Congratulations, Bruce and Wife of Cogerson! I have loved being a contributor since nearly the beginning. That is kind of you to offer to send me a copy of the book.
Hey Flora. Your book is on the way. This edition (our 2nd) actually took out some actors and added some actors….but don’t worry….your “Greg” still has a place in the Top 10. Looks like it will take about a week for the book to get to Canada. Thanks for all the support.
Good news. Much better than the Donen page. Nice offer to buy the book for me, but like Stein I will buy it myself. Congrats, looking forward to reading the book.
Thanks Helakoski….glad you like this news better than the Donen news. Thanks for buying the book.
Nice job. As much time, energy and expense you guys put into this website, I purchased the book rather you giving me one. I do appreciate the offer. My book will be here Tuesday.
My copy just arrived. Will be reading it this evening. First glance looks impressive.
Early results of your book are very favorable. I liked your e-book, but this is so much better. Good format, liked the introduction. This is the type of book, that I can use as a reference. Glad I bought it, glad my name is in the back, you have done well. Hard to believe Sir Laurence Olivier did not make the book.
Thanks for buying the book. Your support is greatly appreciated. Looking forward to your thoughts on the book.
