Check out Frank Borzage’s career compared to current and classic actors. Most 100 Million Dollar Movies of All-Time

Been thinking about this for the last few days. My last couple of pages were on Frank Lloyd and Frank Borzage……they seem to have a lot in common…..which I find strange since one guy was born in the United States and one was born in England. Here are some items I have been thinking about.
1. Obviously….both are named Frank
2. Both were born in the late 1800s…..Lloyd was born 1886, Borzage was born in 1894.
3. They both started their movie careers as actors. Lloyd first acting credit was 1913, Borzage first acting credit in 1912.
4. Both stopped acting in the late 1910s….Lloyd appeared in 63 acting projects from 1913 to 1916….while Borzage appeared in 112 acting projects from 1912 to 1918 (Borzage played himself in 1957’s Jeanne Eagels).
5. Borzage’s first directed project was in 1913, Lloyd’s first directed project was in 1914.
6. Borzage’s first major directing success was in 1920, Lloyd’s first major directing success was in 1922.
7. Both won two Best Directing Oscars.
8. Each won their first Best Director Oscar for directing a silent movie in the late 1920s….Borzage for 7th Heaven in 1927, Lloyd for The Divine Lady in 1928.
9. Each won their second Best Director Oscar for direction a “talkie” movie in the early 1930s….Borzage for The Bad Girl in 1931, Lloyd for Cavalcade in 1933.
10. Both were married more than once….each married an actress and a writer.
11. Both were very busy in the 1910s, 1920s and 1930s. Both slowed down in the 1940s and both only directed 2 movies in the 1950s.
12. Both won the George Eastman award for distinguished contribution to the art of film.
13. Both got their Hollywood Walk of Fame Star in 1960
14. Borzage last directed movie was in 1959, Lloyd’s last directed movie was in 1955.
15. Both died in the early 1960s….Lloyd died in 1960, Borzage died in 1962.
16. Both were laid to rest in the same cemetery, Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
Well I think it is interesting.
