Gerard Butler is the # 59 most connectible actor of the 2010’s.
Hi Bob, thanks for the review, generous rating, info and trivia, it is appreciated.
Happy you liked the posters and stills.
I was wondering, if Alan Ladd was a contemporary of Stallone’s how many Razzie’s he would have collected over the years too. Makes you think doesn’t it?
Only one film scored 10 out of 10 from my souces, Mrs. Brown. There are none scoring 9, and 6 films scored 8 out of 10, the three How to Train your Dragon, 300, Dear Frankie and Coriolanus.
How to Train Your Dragon 1 tops IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, my chart and Bruce’s chart.
Gerard Butler picks the top 5 movies that he is the most proud of – “300 would be no. 1. No. 2 would be a little movie I made many years ago called Dear Frankie. No. 3 would be The Phantom of the Opera. No. 4 would be a little movie I just made called The Vanishing. And No. 5 would be this trilogy consisting of Olympus, London & Angel Has Fallen.
HI STEVE: Thanks as always for rounding off an excellent video with some solid follow-up information and comment. “The past is a foreign country they do things differently there,” so it’s difficult to know how Laddie and Sly would have matched up in the formal award stakes had they been in the same era. All we can realistically do are broadly speaking two things-
1/Compare Sly’s Razzies haul with that of his contemporaries and others who were around once Razzies came on the scene. Within such groupings Sly holds all the records. “HE is the marker” as Martin Scorsese would express it.
2/Content ourselves with our own judgements about the comparative skills of the actors. My personal perception is that Laddie was no Mumbles or Tom Hanks but that he was at least a better actor than Sly. That’s just MY opinion but it is all I have to offer.
I was reading that The Rock was awarded a Razzie nomination [for 2005’s Doom***] and actually turned up at the ceremony to accept it [one of an apparent few who have done so another being Sandra Bullock: Sly never turned up for any of his 35 Razzie wins/noms]. So full marks to Dwayne as he obviously doesn’t take it all over-seriously. ***Dwayne also WON the Stinkers Bad Movie Award in 2001 for Worst Supporting actor of the year in The Mummy Returns. Sly of course is The Man there too having gotten 10 Stinkers.
“When I retired from acting I was able to start up my car sales business with the money. Today I leave it to others to run it; but once a year I insert the false teeth and stick on the toupee and mosey down to my showrooms and loiter there for a brief while. The off-chance of seeing me keeps them coming in all the year round and business is booming!” – Victor John Mature in a 1980s interview.
As I wasn’t familiar with too many of Gerard’s films I learned a lot from Steve’s video which has a personal satisfaction rating of 98% from me. TOP 15 POSTERS

Nice video on Gerard Butler. Not a favorite but I have seen 29 of the movies listed here. Favorites include #20 Reign of Fire…guilty pleasure movie #6 Dear Frankie….probably one Bob really likes. #4 300…..was amazing when it first came out. And the first How To Train Your Dragon. I would say his peak box office days might be behind him. Voted up and shared.
Hi Bruce, 29 out of 35 is impressive especially you not being a fan. My tally 17 and Flora has seen 2, Phantom of the Opera and Mrs. Brown, both favorites of hers. I haven’t seen either.
Surprised to see Dear Frankie rated so highly and from what I’ve read it’s one of Butlers favorites. Thanks for the vote, share and comment, it is appreciated.
