  1. You have no page on him and I don’t watch Harry Potter movies, so Mr. Grant will not mind I think if I use your page on him to express my sorrow at the loss of British actor Alan Rickman from cancer at the age of 69. The two appeared in lot of movies together. Although I make a lot of noise about how I don’t watch current movies, I do watch any good version of classic novels no matter how recently they are made and I’ve seen a lot of Mr. Rickman’s romantic comedies. My favourite is Sense and Sensibility opposite Kate Winslet and Emma Thompson. TCM will actually be showing that movie this month on a night of Thompson films as TCM continues to explore what “classic” can be defined as being. The message boards on that site can become quite heated and I try to avoid reading them. I have no problem with recent movies airing if they are of high quality.

    RIP Mr. Rickman

    1. Hey Flora. Sad news indeed. I have been a fan of Alan Rickman ever since he played Hans Gruber in Die Hard. He was equally good in Sense and Sensibility. For the younger generation….he will forever be Professor Severus Snape. My oldest daughter is the one that shared this bad news with me this morning. She had always like him as Snape…as she grew up during the heyday of Harry Potter. Interesting about the message boards.

  2. A underused actor who tends to get typecast – but in a good way- his fumbling Englishman persona has won him fans and accolades. I love his roles in About a Boy and the darker shades in Bridget Jones – although my firm favs remain Notting Hill and Four Weddings. Can’t wait to see his multiple roles in Cloud Atlas ( including that of a cannibal, I hear!) Another awesome hub, Bruce. Up/shared!

    1. Hey Docmo….thanks for the visit and the nice comment. Cloud Atlas looks like it is going to be very memorable or quickly forgotten…I do not see any middle ground on that movie. I like your firm favorites as well….About A Boy is a good one too….and Grant is very impressive in a very serious role. I appreciate your input into my page.

  3. Excellent page. He’s one of my favourite actors. I haven’t seen all of his movies but I definitely won’t miss his next ones.

    1. Hey hifizah …thanks for the visit….glad I was able to produce a hub on one of your favorites.

  4. Always sharing a large load of interesting info, Cogerson, and I love it! I’ve seen just a small handful of the movies on this list because of my busy schedule; however, I enjoyed them all.

    1. Thanks for the visit KDuBarry03….glad that you have enjoyed reading this page and his movies…..I know the issues of a busy schedule….I greatly appreciate the kind words.
