  1. Let’s see… I’ve seen 28 of the 76 films on the chart. Hmm more than I expected. Favorites include the Spider-Man films, Justice League, Zootopia, Megamind, Kung Fu Panda 3, Thank you for Smoking, Terminator Genisys and La La La Land.

I still haven’t seen The Cider House Rules or Whiplash.

Simmons was great as the newspaper chief J. Jonah Jameson (Stan Lee loved using alliteration for comic book character names) in the first three Spider-Man movies. I wish they’d use him again in future Spidey adventures.

Nice work as always Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve. Thanks for stopping by and (1) commenting, (2) visiting (3) sharing your thoughts on J.K. and (4) tallying. Tally count….Top three…Cogerson 60 (number 60 was seen about 30 minutes ago as I finished The Frontrunner tonight). you 28 and bob cox 28. With the exception of Spidey 3….I agree with you on your favorites….though Terminator Genisys would be at the end of this list. Cider House is worth seeing once….you get J.K., Sir Michael as Boston doctor, Spider-Man in his box office prime, Ant-Man when he was very young and an even younger Charlize Theron.

There is a rumor that J.J. Jameson’s character will appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home. I would not get upset if Simmons played the part again. Thanks for the votes up. Good stuff!

  2. 76 movies? I had no idea he had made that many movies. I have seen many of these movies but had no idea he was in them at all. Movies like the mexican, the ref, the gift. Loved him in whiplash. A eye opening page.

    1. Hey Taylor….he is an actor that has been around awhile…..but was rarely noticed. I love The Ref. I have seen it numerous times. I do not know which role he plays in that movie. I do know the next time I watch it, J.K. will jump of the screen. I have the same thing with the other movies you mentioned. His character in Whiplash is very memorable….even though he is a not a nice guy at all. Thanks for the visit and the comment.

  3. I have seen 4 J.K. Simmons movies. None of them are favourites:

    The Cider House Rules
    The First Wives Club
    Burn After Reading
    The Ref

    1. Hey Flora….thanks for checking out our latest page…especially since he is somebody that started making movies well past your 1976 cutoff. I have seen 59 of his movies. That includes all 4 of the ones you have seen. The Cider House Rules at least has a good and Oscar winning role for Sir Michael Caine. Hope your weekend was awesome. Good stuff.

  4. I have seen JK in the Spiderman franchise [which I don’t watch now as I find it repetitive] and the following 10 movies:
    La La Land
    The Jackal
    Up in the Air
    Megamind
    Autumn in New York
    For Love of the Game
    Aliens in the Attic
    The Gift
    The Snowman
    The Good Doctor.

My favourite among those is La La land and that is to some extent because it holds an element of modern nostalgia for me. I saw in in January 2017 and the following day I watched 35-year old Roger Federer defy the gravity of age by winning the Australian Open, his first major [ie Grand Slam] after being stuck on 17 Grand Slams for the previous 5 years. Today he has 20.

I thought that The Snowman was passable and am surprised at its Cogerson review rating of just 40% whereas IMDB at least gives it 51%. I tried to watch The Good Doctor but switched off after half an hour as I found it uninteresting.

IMDB credits JK with overall 60 acting awards and 35 nominations and he today has a reputed net worth of $10 million.

    1. Hey Boy….thanks for the feedback on Mr. J.K. Simmons. Tally count: Cogerson 59, Bob 13 and Flora 4. I loved the first Spider-Man. I thought the second one was ok…though it was universally hailed as a great comic book movie. The third one is one of the worst superhero movies….down there with Steel and Superman IV. His part in La La Land is pretty small. Interesting take on that movie. It was a pretty good throwback type of movie. They just don’t make movies like that anymore. Still shocked that it did not win the Best Picture Oscar. Good connection of Roger to La La Land.

The Snowman made many Top 10 Worst Movies lists. I thought it was ok….obviously the general public liked it more than the critics….but even a 5.1 IMDb rating is nothing to brag about. I thought The Good Doctor was a decent drama….granted…I do like Orlando….so I might be biased….but it does have a decent supporting cast…Simmons, Henson and Pena. I bet some of that $10 million worth comes from his Farmers Insurance ads. He has been there spokesperson for years. Those ads run all the time over here in the States. Good feedback.

      1. HI BRUCE

        Thanks for feedback.

Interesting take on the possible makeup of J K’s wealth. I like having additional information like that shared with me.

        Take care.
