Want to know the best Jake Gyllenhaal movies? How about the worst Jake Gyllenhaal movies? Curious about Jake Gyllenhaal box office grosses or which Jake Gyllenhaal movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Jake Gyllenhaal movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences and which got the worst reviews? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.
Jake Gyllenhaal (1980-) is an Oscar®-nominated American actor. Five years ago it seemed Gyllenhaal was headed for super stardom. Lackluster box office results might have derailed his ascent but almost every body will agree the man can act. His IMDb page shows over 50 acting credits since 1991. This page ranks Jake Gyllenhaal movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television shows, shorts, video games, documentaries and movies not released in North America theaters were not included in the rankings.
Drivel part: I think Jake Gyllenhaal and Matthew McConaughey have the two hardest last names to remember how to spell correctly. No matter how many times I have typed their last names I always think (and many times I’m right) that I spelled wrong. Anyway this request comes from OU812, who I assume is a Van Halen fan? Sorry it took so long to knock this one out.

Aloha Bruce, Paulette Goddard’s page has gotten more views than Justin Timberlake’s page, makes you wonder about the average age of your readership. 😉
I can’t say I’m the biggest Gyllenhaal fan but I have seen a bunch of his films, let me see… 14 out of 27, not bad.
I liked the first film I saw him in, Donnie Darko, which was pretty weird. I also liked The Day After Tomorrow, Source Code, Nightcrawler, Zodiac and City Slickers.
I haven’t seen – Brokeback Mountain, Southpaw or Rendition.
I’ll recommend Nightcrawler, I thought he was pretty good in that.
Good work Bruce. Vote Up!
Hey Steve….thanks for checking out our latest page. Yes the classic pages have out performed the current pages for sure. Luckily a Jake Facebook page finally started checking this one out.
My tally is at 21…..which is way more than I thought it would be. Of the ones you have not seen….I have to say they were all “one and done” for me. I agree Nightcrawler was good…but very weird…Jake does creepy very very well.
Thanks for the vote up. I actually found a vote up widget but it broke….maybe I will find one that will work more than one day.
He is one of the best actors working today. He should have gotten an Academy Award for Nightcrawler. One of the worst snubs in the last 10 years. Fingers crossed that Nocturnal Animals gets his second nomination. As for your rankings? It kind of lost me when I saw City Slickers sitting in third place.
Hey Duncan. I thought Nightcrawler was a good movie….but probably too disturbing for many of the Oscar voters. I agree he is one of the best actors working today…but he needs some box office success or he might not get as many opportunities to make as many movies as he has in the past.
never been a fan of his but I’m surprised he has been making movies so long. don’t remember him in City Slickers. Did he appear in City Slickers 2 as well?
Hey Anonymous…..I think he has made some really good movies that have gotten no box office glory….while his box office successes have been some really bad movies….like Day After Tomorrow and Prince of Persia….not a good combo…..he needs more Brokeback Mountains….liked by critics and audiences.
He did not appear in City Slickers2….so is this Soren? Thanks for the visit and the comment.
I did not know he got started as a child actor. Twenty five years already, I am impressed. I think he has an excellent chance of having a 50 year career. Just saw a trailer for one of his new movies, Life with Ryan Reynolds. Looks like an Alien rip off but I am a sucker for science fiction. Nice page on a good actor.
Hey Stein….I think I am in the same boat…it was not until a few months ago when I saw a picture of him in City Slickers that I realized that Jake was a very young child actor. I knew him from Bubble Boy and Donnie Darko….so he was always an older teen in my eyes.
Hmmmmm…..never heard of Life…I will have to check out the trailer for Life…..hmmmm…..looking for it……found it….might as well post it here…http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/trailers/781307-life-movie-trailer You are right….looks like a Alien copycat movie…but the cast looks interesting.
Thanks for the nice words about my Jake Gyllenhaal movie page.
Wow no love for Jake…..this page is off to a horrible start. Only 14 views in 6 hours?
