James Bond Movies

nXkpVdCWant to know the best James Bond movies?  How about the worst James Bond movies?  Curious about James Bond’s box office grosses or which James Bond movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which James Bond movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences and which got the worst reviews? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.

James Bond is one of the most successful movie franchises ever. There have been 27 James Bond movies since 1962’s Dr. No. Seven actors have played James Bond Sean Connery (7 times), Roger Moore (7 times), Pierce Brosnan (4 times), Timothy Dalton (2 times), Daniel Craig (5 times), George Lazenby and David Niven one time.

Sean Connery was my father and my uncle’s Bond. When I was growing up, Roger Moore was my Bond. My 27 year old son had Pierce Brosnan. My nineteen year old daughter is in love with her Bond… Daniel Craig. I have no doubt when my 7 year old is older, she will have her very own Bond.

This page will rank 26 James Bond movies from Best to Worst in seven different sortable columns of information. The Sean Connery film Never Say Never Again and the David Niven comedy Casino Royale have been included in the rankings.

The really cool thing about this table is that it is “user-sortable”. Rank the movies anyway you want.

  • Sort James Bond movies by who played James Bond
  • Sort James Bond movies by adjusted domestic box office grosses using current movie ticket cost (in millions)
  • Sort James Bond movies by adjusted worldwide box office grosses using current movie ticket cost (in millions)
  • Sort James Bond movies how they were received by critics and audiences.  60% rating or higher should indicate a good movie.
  • Sort by how many Oscar® nominations and how many Oscar® wins each James Bond movie received.
  • Sort James Bond movies by Ultimate Movie Rankings (UMR) Score.  UMR Score puts box office, reviews and awards into a mathematical equation and gives each movie a score.
  • Use the search and sort buttons to make this table very interactive…for example…you just want to see the Sean Connery Bond movies…..just type in Sean in the search box and up they pop.

  1. I think 5 bond movies are number 1 called “Tommorrow never dies” From russia with love” “Dr.no” “Diamonds are forever” “Goldfinger”.

  2. I loved reading your page. You have included a lot of information in the movie page. Great and interesting!

    1. Thank you Kevin….very glad to see that you enjoyed reading my most popular page ever…..I even took the time to update the page a little bit.

  3. Connery is number 1 then Brosnan. skyfall is good but don’t rate CR or QOS never will buy Craig as Bond

  4. Skyfall grossing $800m at the worldwide boxoffice in just a few weeks is amazing.

This hub keeps getting better and better Bruce, it’s packed to the gills with statistics on all things Bond. I’m not surprised it’s getting so many views every day.

Thanks for listing my Bond rankings, it’s a rough listing, if I had to do it again they might be in a slightly different order.

It looks like Goldfinger is the unanimous winner on your new table. I enjoyed Skyfall, it is one of the best but there are other Bond films I’d place above it. People have gone gaga over it because it’s so well acted and more personal than other Bond films, the indestructible 007 sheds some tears at the climax. I hope we get some gratuitous sex and violence in the next one, along with the flashy gadgetry that made Bond famous in the 60’s. Enough with the Bourne envy.

My Bond hubs have been leaping about all over the place, in the past seven days my Licence to Kill hub has had nearly 100 views, why? I have no idea. 🙂

Excellent work as usual Bruce, Voted Up, Interesting and Useful.

    1. Hey Steve….thanks for your rankings….look at your rankings to the consensus….you seemed to have the best rankings…congrats on that. I wonder if the success of Skyfall will have Bond go the same personal direction….except next time he will be married…have some kids and the movie will be him balancing home life and work life….and they might let Daniel Craig shed some more tears….when the bad guys kidnap the wife …which you know they will…lol.

Thanks for the votes up and the comment….they are always greatly appreciated.

  5. Hey Cogerson, such interesting facts about how much money all these Bond movies have made. I have seen just about all of them and Sean Connery is still my favorite bond but I have enjoyed each of the actors who have played Bond. Perhaps in the future there will be a BOND WOMAN playing the part.

    1. Hey Bern1960….thanks for the revisit to my Bond hub….you offer up a very interesting idea….a female Bond…..I wonder how long till that happens….thanks for the comments
