Anyway i think your work on the worlwide is great.

when she was a movie star.
And d ont Forget , i am patient so take your Time
Good night
Pierre
Hey pierre…..thanks for the kind words. I can look at my Dietrich stats…but I think she did not appear in many movies made by studios that I have lots of worldwide stats…..I feel good about MGM, RKO and Warner….but Paramount (one of her main studios) does not have much information out there…it is bad for domestic but even more horrible for worldwide numbers….but I will see what I can do.
Hi, Bruce.
I have seen only 7 of her movies. My favourites are Rose Marie and San Francisco.
Hey Flora….well….I have only seen 2 of her movies…Love Parade and San Francisco….Steve has only seen San Francisco….Steve is a musical fan…I am not….so it seems strange that I have Steve beat here. Granted…I read her opera style singing has not aged well in movies….I bow to your musical knowledge if that is indeed true. I want to Rose-Marie…if only to see a young James Stewart. Thanks for the comment and the visit.
Written rushed because I accidentally deleted it the first time. Then I tried to comment on the rush job and the I get an error message. Anyway it’s supposed to mean Frankie and Annette are both from Philly and are on the walk along with Dick Clark, Philly DJ’s, Mario Lanza and others.
then I get an error message.
sorry about that Dan.
Jeanette has never been on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000 Center of the Hollywood Universe list. Matter of fact there is no one on the current list who ever appeared with her. No Anthony Quinn or Arthur Tovey even. There are a few people on the original list back in 2000 who were
as seen below. Rank is for 2000.

Jeanette also has the lowest list I’ve seen so far of Oscar winners she appeared with, 6!
George Sanders, Gale Sondergaard (Follow the Boys), David Niven, James Stewart, Clark Gable (San Francisco), Spencer Tracy (San Francisco)
Surprising she starred in 2 French language films with Maurice Chevalier.
Jeanette and her frequent co-star Nelson Eddy both have their names on Philadelphia’s walk of fame (for famous Philadelphians). Yep they’re both from there. While I knew Frankie Avalon it’s surprising to find that his frequent co-star Annette Funicello also is, so you can seer their stars or whatever they call it on the street. There’s also Dick Clark (American Bandstand started there, remember the TV series American Dreams), some Philly DJ’s, Mario Lanza and others.
I remember seeing Sweet Hearts or is it Sweethearts at the infamous Regency theater revival theater circa 1979/1980. It was MGM’s first three color Technicolor film and I hate it. I think they played bickering radio stars in it. This I found surprising since I really liked Naughty Marietta, Maytime, Rose Marie etc. Maybe the modern day setting threw it off, but I don’t care for films where couples are always fighting.
Hey Dan…..well that is sad that nobody is on the new list….then again….her last movie was 67 years ago. Even list from 2000 is pretty underwhelming. I have not seen any of the Eddy/MacDonald movies….but I would be willing to bet they had lots of the same actors in the movies…which would not help out her Oracle score.
Yes…..6 Oscar winners is low for sure…and 1/3 of them come from San Francisco. Interesting about the Philadelphia walk of fame….were is that located? We have been to Philly a few times…but have never heard of that before….does Stallone get a new star for each new Rocky movie?
Thanks for the mini-review of Sweethearts. I will have to check out Naughty Marietta, Maytime, Rose-Marie. Back in my video store days….I remember her VHS tapes…they rarely got checked out….and when they did…I was always like….”I will never watch this one”….well 30 years later and I have almost kept my word.
Thanks for the lists and the feedback.
