She made so few movies but had the honor of appearing in the only film starring Wayne Newton, wow what can you say.
Another actor I saw on a Naked City episode. Jo was the special guest star and then the credits listed introducing Peter Fonda and introducing Martin Sheen.
Jo was never ever on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000 list. These are the actors on the 2020 list she appeared with.

SUSAN HAYWARD I’ll Cry Tomorrow (1955)
Hey Dan. I did not realize their was only one Wayne Newton starring role movie. My favorite Newton is the strange movie The Dark Backward…..a movie that attempted to become a cult classic that never happened. Kewl that she was in that sole Newton movie. Good trivia on her connection to one of Martin Sheen’s first roles. Looking at the first list…Dennis Hopper is the only one with more than one movie with her. Looking at that list more….not sure I knew Rance Howard was in Cool Hand Luke. I will have to keep an eye out for him the next time I watch it. As I scan through my memory of that movie….maybe he was one of the guards. Looking at the Oscar winning list…10 is below average but it is a star studded 10…Gable, Burt, Robin, Kirk, Paul and Susan…not too bad. Good stuff as always.
Before I comment on my seen films, you have a mistake on this page. This Angry Age does not have any co-stars and it should say Anthony Perkins. Meanwhile you have included Damsel in Distress listed as the 14th film from 1937 co-starring Perkins. Neither Perkins or Van Fleet are in that film.
I have seen the top 7 Jo Van Fleet films.
Favourite Jo Van Fleet Movies:
Gunfight at the OK Corral
Cool Hand Luke
Other Jo Van Fleet Films I Have seen:
The Rose Tattoo
East of Eden
I’ll Cry Tomorrow
Wild River
The King and Four Queens
Hey Flora. Thanks for the headsup on Damsel in Distress….that error has been fixed. I have actually seen 8 of her movies….and number that really suprises me. I have seen all of the ones you saw with the exception of Wild River. Cool Hand Luke is one of my all-time favorite movies. Many of the ones I have seen, I did not realize it was her. Heck, I just saw The King and Four Queens…and never connected that dot. Good stuff as always.
Great UMR Page
Thank you Mike
