Need to know which John Goodman movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.

John Goodman (1952-) is an American actor.  He first gained fame for playing Dan Connor on the television show, Rosanne, from 1988 to 1997.   Over the last 30 years he has become of the busiest and best character actors working in movies.  His IMDb page shows an incredible 145 acting credits since 1983. This page will rank 75 John Goodman movies.  Movies will be ranked from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Television shows, shorts, cameos and movies that were not released in theaters in North America were not included in the rankings.

Drivel part of the page:  This John Goodman page comes from a request by Dan. When researching this page I was very surprised to see that 1984’s C.H.U.D. was one of his movie credits (no memory of his part at all). C.H.U.D. is a movie me and my sons have always enjoyed even though it is a truly horrible movie.  Never heard of C.H.U.D.?…well maybe if I tell you that it stands for “Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller” might help. Still not helping?  Well just know it was a proud day when we were finally able to include C.H.U.D. on our movie website.

  1. When I saw his name on the new page list I smiled. That is what happens whenever he appears in a movie. Love this guy. 70 movies wow wow. Seen many of these movies.

    1. Hey Helakoski….I am sure many people have that same reaction whenever Goodman shows up on screen. 70 movies…and probably and hopefully many more to come.

    1. Hey Dan….glad you found your requested John Goodman page. I was playing around on Oracle yesterday….an interesting site…..I checked out Eric Roberts movie career….and just do not see how he or Danny Trejo are 1st and 4th. I guess Trejo’s 20 low budget movies a year get him lots of 1 and 2 connections with lots of unknown actors. Seems there needs to be a page that only looks at known actors…and do their Oracle rating on them. Thanks for the information.

      1. Danny Trejo has starred in a couple of Machete pictures which actually have sort of all star casts. One of them had Robert De Niro as the bad guy.

        1. True….although I am sure Danny is more proud of his work with DeNiro on Heat than Machette. I think Danny is the hardest working actor in movies today….he has almost 100 movies since 2011…..granted not many people have heard of any of those movies …..lol.

          1. Hey Dan….all those two minute scenes have to help his Oracle score…..thinking I will start adding in the stars Oracle score when I am doing the Possible Interesting Facts on a page.

  2. I have not thought about chud in years did even realize he was in it either has to be a small part

    1. Hey Anonymous….I agree it had to be a small part….I will have to rewatch that one and keep my eye out for him. Thanks for the visit.

  3. You have been busy which is exactly what I could say about Goodman. CHUD? Never even heard of it. I first noticed him in Revenge of the Nerds. I probably watched that movie a 1000 times as a youth. Nice page as always.

    1. Hey Stein. Yep I have been cranking out the pages the last few days. CHUD is horrible….but my older boys used to like watching it….it is terrible….but a guilty pleasure. I did not realize he was the coach until writing this page….I actually realized I had seen a few of his movies before he started to register with me. Raising Arizona is the movie that caused me to finally see him.

  4. I’m most familiar with Goodman from Roseanne.

I’ve seen some of his big screen films: 5 The one that comes to mind first is The Babe. Thus, that is my favourite.

    On my to see list:
    Argo
    Trumbo

    1. Hey Flora.
      1. Thanks for checking out one of our “modern pages”…those are especially appreciated…since we know they are not your favorite types of movies.
      2. Roseanne made Goodman a star for sure. Hard to believe he left that show almost 20 years ago.
      3. My tally count is …..42 …yet The Babe is not one of those 42.
      4. Surprised you have not seen Argo…especially with Canada being the hero of the story….it is a very entertaining movie….that I think you will really like.
      5. I too want to see Trumbo.
      Thanks for the comment.

      1. The reason I have not seen Argo yet is the fact that such films are often released in the later part of the year and I run out of time to see them. And Argo has another favourite of mine – Rory Cochrane. Again, I think that this is one that I will have to buy to see?
