Attended WoC’s Uncle Gus’ funeral this weekend. At one point during the weekend we were looking through some of his old pictures. We found the following picture from Auburn’s Tiger Theater. The picture looks like it was taken between 1945 and 1950. Back then, the studios sent out their actors to promote films….sometimes they ended up at the 715 seat Tiger theater. WoC’s granddad is in the middle….it is possible….that the people on the left and right might be actors. So the question is….can anybody identify either person? I feel I disappointed the family when I could not identify the lady by the microphone…any help would be greatly appreciated…..if only to redeem myself in my family’s eyes.

Someone will know who the woman is – she looks familiar. (The theater is in Alabama.)
Hey Rob M. I hope you are right…but so this seems like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Claire trevor or maybe ann Sheridan?
Hey NipCowDisc….thanks for the suggestions…..I like Ann Sheridan as a better possibility.
All of the guesses and suggestions are greatly appreciated. My father-in-law, who is still around….but was between 10 and 20 at the time of the photos has no idea at all…..they presented the question to me….”the family’s movie expert”…..and I had a big ZERO. So all of these comments are very helpful. This picture has no mystery….just love all the bikes in front of the theater.
The “marcelled pompadour effect.” Is that what that hairstyle was called? I think it’s early-mid ’40s, WWII-era.
Hey Wayne…..well….“marcelled pompadour effect.” is an awesome bit of trivia. My father-in-law went down the same path …only he went with style of the suits to come up with the range of 1946 to 1952. Thanks for the help.
39 foot replica of the Green Dolphin? From 1947’s Green Dolphin Street
Hey Ohio Movie Collector that is a great guess…..Green Dolphin Street came out in 1947…and that is the range we are thinking that the movie came out. Now I can look at the IMDb cast for that movie.
