    1. Hey Dan
      1. As always….thank your for your efforts in putting these (massive lists) together.
      2. I am right there with you…..Day of the Locust was indeed weird…it was a one and done movie for me…Sutherland is wasted in that movie.
      3. Luckily I did not have to skip school to see it…lol.
      4. I am shocked she is not on the Oracle list still. Her 94 movies is one of the highest amount of movies for a thespian on any UMR page.
      5. Her first list has countless Oracle connections….makes you wonder how she fell off the list.
      6. She actually has a few movies yet to come out….I wonder when they will finally see the light of day….some of the ones that saw the light of day are pretty bad.
      7. Most frequent Oracle co-star….the honors go to ….many…. I lost count to how many have been in three movies with her….another stat that makes her absence on the Oracle list more surprisng.
      8. 30 Oscar winning co-stars is pretty good….more than I would have guessed….I bet her number of Oscar winning co-stars is pre 1985…..so many bad low budget movies for her.
      Good stuff as always.

  2. I have seen 4 Karen Black movies, all of them in the top 10.

The HIGHEST rated movie I have seen is Five Easy Pieces.

The highest rated movie I have NOT seen is Nashville.

The LOWEST rated movie I have seen is Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean.

    Favourite Karen Black Movies:

    Five Easy Pieces
    Family Plot
Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean

Other Karen Black Movie I Have Seen:

    The Great Gatsby

    1. Hey Flora…thanks for checking out our Karen Black page. Tally count 8 for me and 4 for you. That only means I have missed 86 of her movies and you have missed 90 of her movies. This was one of the most difficult pages to do….once I reached the mid 1980s her movies were (a) plentiful and (b) unknown. But I am glad I finished.

I have seen three of the ones you have seen…I have not seen Come Back To The Five Dime, Jimmy Dean….though it seems I have been aware of that movie for a very long time. So you did not see her Airport movie? I would have thought Jack Lemmon’s presence would have made that one a “must see” movie. Good stuff as always.

  3. FYI

She is a Oscar nominated Supporting actress and once Leading actress.
She won a Golden Globe for Supporting actress

  4. It is hard to decide if Karen Black is a character actor or a star. Every now and again she gets a role that wins acclaim and awards, but that lustre dims after more bad films, putting her back at the starting gate again. – Rating the Movie Stars (1983 Book)

Rating the Movie Stars 4 Star Karen Black Performances
    1970’s Five Easy Pieces

    1. 23 Joel subjects to go. This turned out to be one of the more difficult pages to do. The last 35 years of her career she was very very busy…..but not many of the movies she made are known by many….looking at her post 1983 career….and the titles will make you doubt your movie knowledge…as I have not even heard of most of these movies. She had 5 movies that posted less than $1000 in box office gross…..but a single dollar moves up the gross to $.01 million. This page is filled with movies with the lowest gross possible to register in the database.

I have seen 8 of her movies….the entire Top 8 on the chart…then I go 0-86 for the rest of the movies on the chart.
