  1. Kate Beckinsdale is no longer on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000 Center of the Hollywood Universe List. These are the films on the list she has appeared with.

Useless nonsense, in later years my mother would go to Ireland every year to visit family. The last time she went was 1997 and she saw Kate’s Shooting Fish in a cinema there. She then saw My Best Friend’s Wedding there, then never returned to Ireland, nor ever went to another film in a cinema. She lived 16 more years. Her last film seen in America was Babe (1995). Anyway Kate’s co-stars.

    1. Hey Dan. As always thanks for these great lists. Thanks for sharing the story about your mother and her time in Ireland and the movie she watched. It always amazes me how certain movies trigger certain memories. I’m surprise that Kate is not in the top 1000. Seems she’s been busy enough to make that list. Looking at her costars, it looks like Bill Nighy is her most frequent Oracle co-star. Nighy is one of my favorite character actors working today. One day he will have his own page. Looking at her Oscar-winning costars, 22 is not a bad total at all. It includes two of my favorites, Caine and Bale. Good stuff as always.

  2. I am seriously in love with her. The complete package, beautiful and talented. 384 Facebook likes? Is this page not new?

    1. Hey Taylor…I can understand your feelings towards Kate. She is a very lovely actress. As for the page….yes it is new…but it got shared on Facebook….and slightly took off. The Facebook likes have now reached over 500….pretty cool in my book. Good stuff.

  3. Bruce’s lead-in above confirms my own impression that Kate is best known for the Underworld franchise. Those type of films are not my personal cup of tea so I’ve never watched any of them; and I started to watch Van Helsing but its style irritated me so I switched off after not too long.

The review ratings above suggest I would not get much argument from WH’s sources: a poor average of 51% for the Underworld movies and a dire 41% for Van H. However I did enjoy Kate (1) as Ava Gardner in The Aviator and (2) in the romantic comedy Serendipity and the horror flick Vacancy. Bruce gives The Aviator a high 83% and the other two movies 61% each – ie just shading “Good” as an overall rating for the latter pair.

On top of her big screen movie career Kate has (1) appeared in 7 TV productions 1991-2019 (2) acted in 3 stage plays in 1995/96 (3) performed in 3 radio productions all in 1997 (4) made a video game in 2014.

Next for Kate are 2 movies both at post-production stage: Jolt an action movie; and El Tonto a comedy. She has a current net worth of $20 million and IMDB credits her with 9 acting awards and 35 noms. Whatever the quality of a movie she is in, Kate herself is always easy on the eye for many people and accordingly one is glad to see her get this new page – so “Vote Up!”

    1. Hey Bob…thanks for checking out our latest UMR page. I associate the Underground movies with Resident Evil. For a long time, I avoided both of those francises…but now I have seen all the movies in both series. I like Underground more….but the two are almost like siblings. I have seen The Aviator…but barely remember her part…it is probably time to re-visit that one. Thanks for the further information on her career and her net worth…all good information.
