Want to know the best Kathleen Kennedy movies? How about the worst Kathleen Kennedy movies? Curious about Kathleen Kennedy box office grosses or which Kathleen Kennedy movie picked up the most Oscar® nominations? Need to know which Kathleen Kennedy movie got the best reviews from critics and audiences? Well you have come to the right place….because we have all of that information.
Kathleen Kennedy (1953-) is an 8-time Oscar® nominated film producer. In 1981, she co-founded Amblin Entertainment with Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall. That partnership over the last 35 years has produced some of biggest box office hits of all-time….not to mention two children…as she and Marshall married in 1987. Kathleen Kennedy’s IMDb page shows 91 acting credits from 1982-2017. This page will rank 66 Kathleen Kennedy movies from Best to Worst in six different sortable columns of information. Her television appearances, documentaries and short films were not included in the rankings.
Drivel part of the page: When Dan requested a page on Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy…my first thought was….”well that will be an easy one to do”. My thought was that most of their movies would be Spielberg movies…and since we have a Spielberg page…it would be a snap. It did not take long when I looked at their IMDb pages…..that “it would be a snap” quickly faded away. First of all….they have been very busy…with over 210 IMDb credits between them. Second of all…while they have done lots of movies together (48 in case you are wondering) they have also done lots of work separately. So it was decided to give both of them their own UMR pages….and to include a Yours, Mine and Ours table as well. Here is our Frank Marshall page.
Kathleen Kennedy Movies Can Be Ranked 6 Ways In This Table

For comments….all you need is a name and a comment….please ignore the rest.
For Kathleen I have missed the same 2 as I stated on the Frank Marshall page but have also not seen “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly” which looked too morbid to watch.
Hey Dan….I liked the Diving Bell and the Butterfly…..granted it is not the type of movie that you put in for a nice light fun movie…..but it has some great performances. Thanks for the suggestion of doing this Kathleen Kennedy page.
Oooh another big list, I think this one’s more impressive or is it about the same as Frank Marshall’s filmography? I don’t see Raiders here but ET is present and so is Jurassic Park.
I’ve seen exactly 50 of the 66 films listed. Favorites include Jurassic Park, ET, Gremlins, Poltergeist, Back to the Future, Temple of Doom, InnerSpace, Star Wars and Young Sherlock Holmes.
Schindler’s List tops the critics and UMR charts, an important film for Spielberg and not one I’ve watched often since it’s release. Like 12 Years a Slave it’s just too depressing. I bought the blu-ray a few years ago and have yet to watch it in HD.
Another interesting page Bruce. I’m guessing Kennedy tops Marshall in grosses?
Nicely done. Voted Up!
Hey Steve.
1. Roughly 70% of the movies are Marshall/Kennedy productions…which means about 30% are stand alone Frank and Kathleen movies…granted…Mr. Spielberg was right there with them on many of the movies.
2. Frank got the credit for Raiders in 1981….Kennedy’s first producing job was the following year with ET….not a bad way to start.
3. Tally contest. Cogerson 57, Hunsecker 54, Steve Lensman 50 and Laurent 36
4. Color Purple was a good sized hit….just it looks small compared to these monster all-time hits…..the reviews were solid….the 11 Oscar nominations is stellar…and The Color Purple is one of her Oscar nominations…..so good box office, good reviews, Oscar love and an individual Oscar nomination help get up in the rankings.
5. Yep Kathleen Kennedy was the producer of the first three Jurassic Park movies…..but apparently she was holding back the franchise….so Frank had to come and save the day….lol. I mean Jurassic Park was only the top grossing movie of all-time for just a few years….lol.
As always thanks for the comment and the visit.
Hello Bruce,
Nice job again. I’ve seen 36 movies of this liste. 24 on the top 25 and all the top 10. The lowest score I’ve seen is A Dangerous Woman. Did you received the table I send you ?
Hey Laurent….36 Kathleen Kennedy movies is pretty good.
Tally contest. Cogerson 57, Hunsecker 54, Steve Lensman 50 and you 36….pretty impressive totals..as everybody has seen more than half of her movies. 96% of the Top 25…..very cool. Yep got the table ….it is greatly appreciated.
Nice job on one of the most powerful woman working in Hollywood. I agree with the comment above her name and Marshall’s generally mean quality is coming.
This has saved my name as Scattered Morris guess I am stuck with it.
Hey Scattered/Scott…if you delete the name on your next comment….you can get it to say Scott….plus if you really want to ….I can change the name here….let me know.
Hey Scattered Morris…..Entertainment Weekly used to do a most powerful power list….I imagine….she would be near the top of that list period. Yep I agree their name and success go well together.
And I’ve seen 54 of Ms. Kennedy’s films. I always enjoyed seeing her and/or Frank’s names in the credits, as they seem to work on quality productions for the most part. Thanks for spotlighting these often unsung contributors.
Hey Hunsecker….wow I just barely beat you…as I am at 57. I think I have seen American Tail 2 as well……but other than remembering hearing James Stewart…I remember nothing about that one…so I did not count it. Seems as time has gone on….they have started doing more projects apart….but boy are they still putting butts in seats…as she had Star Wars 7 last year and he had Jurassic Park 4…with a combined worldwide gross of 4 billion…not a bad year for the longtime married couple…thanks for such a quick response.
