Kurt Russell (1951-) started in the entertainment business in the early 1960s. Starting out in television, he spent his youth making movies with people like Elvis Presley in It Happened At The World’s Fair and James Stewart in Fools’ Parade. Seeing the talent Russell had, Walt Disney signed him to a 10 year contract with Disney and he became one of the top stars for Disney in the 1970s.  After 18 years of acting Kurt Russell left Hollywood and became a professional baseball player. He signed with California Angels and made it to their Double A team before an injury ended his career. At this point he returned to his acting career.

  1. Just saw a old Kirk Russell movie, Winter People, its an underrated movie. If you have time this holiday check this one out.

  2. We weren’t sure about The Christmas Chronicles but have to say I think this was one of the best I have seen in quite a while now. It definitely beats anything at the theaters and we were able to enjoy it in our home. I read one review that Kurt Russell’s Santa was a Santa that has sex, I thought that was funny and accurate as Kurt’s Santa is fun and sexy. Netflix has a winner in this movie.

    1. Hey Beck….I agree with your review….good to see I am not alone in really liking this movie…actually on IMDb the rating is going up. Funny line about this being a Santa that has sex….lol.

  3. Hey Bob and Steve….good back and forth on Mr. Kurt Russell….anytime the conversation turns to Kurt is always a good time. As for The Thing’s critical audience score….WoC had slipped in a MetaCritic score for that movie…..and that really lowered the score….I just deleted in from the review section…..and it moves up a little in our rankings…..and closer to Steve’s 81%. Kurt and Goldie seem to have made some good investments together….seems Kurt is now more interested in his wine business more than his movie career…..but….he has a movie coming out on NetFlixx at Christmas (trailer at the bottom) that might be a fun one to check out. Good stuff from the both of you.

    1. Looks like fun and I have Netflix, hopefully it pops up here too. Audiences have gotten used to seeing Kurt with facial hair since the 1980s and after seeing Bone Tomahawk or Hateful Eight some producer must have said ‘there’s our Santa Claus’.

  4. Added Steve’s Kurt Video To The Page….Our Thoughts on That Video.

“Kurt is one of my all-time favorites. Over at UMR…we have not one but two Kurt pages….both have been very popular and both are in our Top 50 most viewed pages. Pretty sure I have seen almost all of these movies.

Ah…my first miss….#30…..but I have seen Kurt’s part many times

#29 Tango And Cash…some say this is one great action movie. #28 Unlawful Entry..good movie…but Liotta steals the movie #27 Dreamer…good family movie. #26 Dark Blue…great Kurt role..too bad nobody went to see it. #25 Vanilla Sky…good supporting role for Kurt movie is ok #24 Touchback…ok…small Kurt role #23 Executive Decision…good thriller…saw in theaters….it was a crowd pleaser. Ok….so that is 42 or 43 Kurt movies seen. Good video….voted up and shared. P.S. Probably my longest comment here.”

    1. Epic comment Bruce, cheers. Has to be your longest one so far. You’re definitely a fan you’ve seen nearly all of them, impressive. I’ve seen 31 of the 45 and Flora 6.

Captain Ron is nearly last on your extended chart too and you gave it a lower score than I did, 5 out of 10.

Sorry Tombstone just missed the no.1 spot, it’s one of my favorites too. Thanks for a great read, love your mini-reviews, appreciate the vote and share.

      1. Always glad to talk about Mr. Russell. I am looking forward to his son’s Overlord and Kurt’s Santa turn……which stars his other son Oliver Hudson…I wonder if Goldie will pop up too?
