  1. I have the forgotten 1 year series Going My Way where Leo G. Carroll plays the Barry Fitzgerald role and Gene Kelly does the Bing Crosby role. It’s sort of dull and cornballish. Leo G. Carroll never appeared on the Oracle of Bacon Top 1000. These are the actors on the list he appeared with.

  3. Leo G. Carroll has appeared in 5 of my favorite Hitchcock films – Rebecca, Suspicion, Spellbound, Strangers on a Train and North by Northwest. Other favorites include – The Desert Fox, Elizabeth & Essex, Wuthering Heights and Tarantula.

I’ve seen 19 of the 50 films on the chart.

Btw you have Charlie Chan’s Murder Cruise as Leo’s top rated movie on the critics chart. I saw nearly all the Charlie Chan films a couple of years ago. Enjoyed them.

I can’t remember if I saw the original Father of the Bride, I must have. I haven’t seen Waterloo Bridge.

Leo was also famous on TV as Waverly on The Man from UNCLE tv series in the 60s.

    Good stuff Bruce. Vote Up!

    1. Hey Steve. So are you saying Charlie Chan’s Murder Cruise should not be his number one rated movie according to critics and audiences? I thought everybody universally agrees that is the greatest movie of all-time…..and deserving of it’s 100 rating. Every time the Sight and Sound poll comes out…it is always a fight to the death between Vertigo and Murder Cruise for the top spot…..lol. Obviously that is an error, which I will fix when I get access to the database again. Sadly I am away from the house and can not fix it currently. Good catch.

  4. “With his imposing dictation, crumbled face, and stately frame. Leo G. Carroll was the ideal Englishman. Whether playing the heavy, the eccentric uncle, or the bemused bureaucrat, he was a consistently good character actor.”
