For comments….all you need is a name and a comment….please ignore the rest.
Whats Eating Gilbert Grape, is one of the worst movies that I was unfortuanete enough to see in my life. I waited for a tangible plot of meaning to unfold (that wasn’t completely predictable) and it never came. The best word to describe how I felt during the duration of that movie would be best described as agony although no word in existance can define how terrible it made me feel. For people to actually like a movie as poorly written and predictable as this makes me think two things. One being, either that specific individual is completely inept in too many degrees to number or they just have no taste whatsoever. To call this movie an atrocity would be fair but to call it a disaster would be more relevant.
Hey Idsfk….hey I agree What’s Eating Gilbert Grape is not an easy movie to watch….although it is not my favorite movie at all, I think I like it a little more than you do….but I greatly appreciate your passion in the comment. I am sorry that you disliked the movie so much….I will say my daughter is a huge Johnny Depp fan and she has never been able to finish the movie….and not because of time issues…but because she gets so bored with it….thanks for stopping by.
My opinion is completley subjective and I didn’t mean any offense to those who found that movie inspiring, no matter how dull I perceived it as.
Hey Idsfk….I like when people give their opinions…and not everybody has to agree with them…..plus I looked at my Johnny Depp and Leo comments…and only a couple of people mentioned how much they liked Gilbert Grape.
Awwww Jack….I agree with BryRog57, there was more space on the door for you! If only….
What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, your character was OUTSTANDING! Romeo and Juliet is another fav of mine!!!
Hey Sunshine…..I agree I never understood why they did not try at least twice to balance both people on the door….one and Leo is done….thanks for the votes up and the comments.
Out of his top ten movies I’ve only seen 3. Did see Quick and the Dead, and Basketball Diaries. Liked both movies. I refused to watch Titanic when it came out. Someone ruined the ending for me, told me the ship sinks! HaHa.
Hey ruffridyer…..if you have only seen 3 of his top movies….then I think you have missed some good movies…..as for Titanic…James Cameron did a director’s cut where the Titanic survived the iceberg…..you gotta check that out……lol. As for Leo…..I have grown to appreciate him more as he has gotten older…thanks for the comments.
To be fair Shutter Island was a pretty good movie, Though I could see where alot of people might not care for it.
I liked Shutter Island but after Sixth Sense it is really hard for movie producers to have a surprise ending….it seems that I am always looking for possible trick endings…so the whole time I watched Shutter Island I kept thinking..is he dead? is he a convict? is he crazy?
I really liked him in Blood Diamond. He does more than “an accent”. He actually shifts his accent from one situation to another to blend in with the types of people he is dealing with. If you watch the movie with commentary by fabulous director Edward Zwick, you will learn a lot about what Leo put himself through to play this part and make it look effortless. He deserved an Oscar.
Hey JustSuzanne he did get a nomination for Blood Diamond….one day he will win himself an Oscar….he has gotten better in my eyes as he has gotten older….I will have to check out the Blood Diamond commentary…thanks for reading and commenting
Rose could have scooted over just a little. Sorry Jack.
Hey BryRog57….I have always thought that too.
